310 Sundancer Thread (2007 & newer)

Hello, I am looking at purchasing a 2008 310DA. I am trying to figure out the cruising speed at a reasonable RPM. I am seeing very different efficiency charts (I can only find a 2006 and 2009 chart online). Given the same engines, will the 2008 match this efficiency chart made for a 2009, or was there a redesign 2008 to 2009? https://www.boatingmag.com/boats/sea-ray-310-sundancer/. Appreciate any info and sorry for the "newbie" question!

cmrush,
To help you out we need additional information.
Engines size?
Inboards with V-Drives or I/O = Inboard/Outboards?

The boat on the link you sent is not a 2008 310 Sundancer. It might be a newer model, probably a 2010 or newer.

On my boat with Twin 350 MAG Horizon, Inboards with V-Drives, I like to cruise at 3800-3900 RPM, Speed about 23-24 MPH, burns about 28 GPH.

These numbers might be off a bit, but I’ll get you in the ballpark. For I/O most likely are more fuel efficient.

Yeah, that's a newer boat, the old 290. The LOA is 31', and it's beam is 10'

My experience is 2 sterndrives 6.2l 320hp. I cruise around 3700 with a speed of 27-28 MPH and burn about 27-28GPH.

Team,

I’m in the process of replacing my Idler/Tension Pulleys. When looking at part numbers, it always states something like “this is an OEM original part”. After some research, I discovered you will pay a lot more for parts you can find at your local auto parts store.
This does not apply to all parts, but at least some.
I’m not into making videos, but this one was simple.

If allowed by CSR, please enjoy.... Hope to save you some $$; you’re going to need it the way fuel prices are going (or for a cold beverage).

Team,

Question - Any reason for different pitch propellers on our boats?
(2007 310 Sundancer V-Drives, 350 MAG Horizons)
In my case I have original 4 bladed props (18”)
My SB is 18” x 16.5 Pitch, my Port is 18” x 16 Pitch.

I took them out to have them tuned and the specialist called me and asked me about it. I still have the original paperwork and this is how it came from factory.

Thanks!

I'm selling the entire top dash panel if anyone is interested with and without the gauges. I'm offering it here first.

According to my parts manual, my port prop is 18 x 19 x 3.55 C LH where my starboard prop is 18 x 18.5 x 3.55 C RH.
Your hull number must be 1303 and up. My hull number is between 1201 and 1302.

I've always wondered about the difference myself.

Very interesting that we have same boats with different pitch props. I know my HIN#, how do I get my hull #?

It's in the HIN... mine is SERT1275D707, so my hull number is 1275.

Pretty sure it is because one of your trans.' runs in reverse (slightly different ratio) when going foward.

the difference in the prop pitch is because of the transmissions are slightly different because of rotation.

Team,
For those who need the toilet seat hinges replaced, I found this for far less than the original.

Identical to the original, but slightly lighter in color.

2016 with under 100 hours. Have had all kinds of issues with shift actuators, impellers and more. Maybe 6 separate instances of going into guardian mode and needing to be serviced over the course of 18 months since purchased in 2019 with 36 hours and a supposed clean survey.

The latest issue is an overheating on one engine. Alarm went off in the middle of an outing with no other signs and it looks like It got up to about 200 before I shut it down.

I tested to see if it would still overheat when flushing the engine which we do after every outing as the boat is in salt. It did overheat suggesting to me that it is likely not a clogged intake or water pump. Mind you to say I’m boating and engine ignorant and inexperienced would be an under-statement.

Anyway, we are going to start with troubleshooting the thermostat. Any other suggestions or experience with overheating?

Thanks so much.

Malve,
Recommend you add more information to your post.
Specific engine(s), inboard or I/O, if Horizon (Fresh Water Cooled) and any other information you may have.
I would also recommend post the question on SROC (Sea Ray Owners Club) website.
I would start with simple stuff, from seacock being fully open without any obstructions in the filter/strainer, make sure the impeller is not broken inside the pump, make sure there’s nothing obstructing raw water flow to your cooling system.
You can download engine diagrams (or at least see them) from a few websites.

Hi all,

Just purchased a 2009 310 DA and I had a few questions for you all.
The LG all in one coffee carafe is missing and based on the research I have done there is no reason to replace as it's very expensive. Has anyone replaced the all in one microwave with different one that fits right and requires no electrical or mechanical mods? On top of that, maybe one that has convection oven features too?
Has anyone replace the Norcold cockpit refrigerator? Is there one that you recommend that again is a drop in electrically and mechanically?

Is there anything I should look out for on this new to me 310? Tips and tricks from you all that have experience with this vessel would be much appreciated.

Thank you all

The carafes are discontinued and indeed hard to find... there have been so many broken/missing ones that they have dried up. There have been a few for sale here over the years. Mine is still in place as is my fridge, so I know nothing about replacements.

Where do you boat?

Best of luck and welcome to CSR!

I replaced the cockpit fridge. I don't have the model number right now, but I went ahead and put another Norcold in because it was what fit the best.

Thank you Jim, I'm in Cleveland Lake Erie, originally started boating with my dad in The Atlantic and Long Island sound when I lived on Long Island. Have always owned Sea Rays
