310 Sundancer Thread (2007 & newer)

You could remove the base and cut/splice the wires, changing the polarity that way.
Just make sure to splice them back properly.

I ended up getting these 2NM Attwood LIGHTARMOR LED Stainless Steel Bow Navigation lights Pair NV1012SS from ebay. they look really nice, easy replacement and exceed USCG guidelines. I had to drill one new hole and plug one hole with 5200.

Did you contact Mercury about the service bulletin? They use to pay for parts if you take it to an authorized mechanic.
Part of the bulletin is the fuel injection system also.
I did. They were actually very helpful the second time I called. In my case I could’ve changed just the bottom chamber, however I didn’t want to run into additional unnecessary risks. The replacement was some work, but definitely doable. I’ll post some pics of how mine looked.

unsure why the pics didn’t end up straight

I just updated the Fresh water pump to the Shurflo Marine Aqua King II 4.0 Fresh Water Pump #4148-153-E75 4148-153-A75. Anyone update/upgrade the original pump and used the Pump Silencing Kit rubber hoses? i was wondering if you have pictures as to the location modification done. apparently these are required to reduce the noise instead of direct connection to Pex pipping. Also manual requires these hoses for the install?

Anyone replaced starter on STBD engine? how did you access the area?

Yes, mine was replaced with the engine removed (for transom shield assembly replacements). Dealer indicated "nearly impossible to change with engine installed", so I preemptively had it replaced. YMMV.

that is what my mechanic said, if he is going to remove the manifold, might as well replace everything that needs replacing while in that area!!!

You can replace the starter. I have stern drives, so I throw a pillow and a blanket on top of the engine. (Remove wires and two bolts). I did it myself. It is very doable, just not terribly comfortable as some blood rushes to the head. Much easier in a 310 than a bowrider... (I know from experience).

I did but ended up take out the riser, elbow and manifold. Great idea on the pillow, armature mistake i did not use them and body stomach and chest have bruise marks all over them!!!!

I did surprise myself as I knew it was mostly a mechanical job of taking things apart and putting them back together. it took me 1.5 days as i was slow and took a few break and conference calls in between.

anyone replace the cabin sink? i know there was talk in the past about replacing it with a larger one and cutting the counter but curious if anyone actually went through with it?

I did.
I'll look for the thread.

I never replaced the galley sink but I do have information regarding getting a new countertop in the event you make a mistake. Main Corian piece (not including cooktop cover) is just shy of $1K. It’s available directly from boatoutfitters.com (they manufactured them for Sea Ray). I can also share the CAD file for it if anyone has any interest.

stephenm27, how's the search going?

So far, rather slow. It's been a long road to get official closure on our boat. That's basically done now so I feel like a search can start in earnest. Hopefully, we'll remain a SR family, but the 330 has been out of production since 2016 and the current 350 is too tall with a non-hingeable hardtop (as well as a little too beamy to trailer)...so I don't think we yet know what we're gonna end up in.

QQ, i have the original installed smartcraft vesselview. Does the Waste tank level or the fresh water tank level show up on the vesselview screen?

i have the same issue in my 310 with the original smartcraft.

Has anyone installed a ProMariner ProNautic 1230P battery charger? I had to replace the charger this weekend. Everything went fine until we had to select the preset profile for AGM battery types. We had two options:
#1 was "Conditioning VDC" 14.4 VDC and "Auto Maintain VDC Range" 13.0-13.4
#2 was "Conditioning VDC" 14.6 VDC and "Auto Maintain VDC Range" 13.0-13.6

I have 4 DEKA group 31 AGM batteries. We have no idea what preset setting to use. I have attached the page from the manual and also a picture of the battery model I have. Any help will be appreciated.

contact East Penn @ 610-682-6361
they will give you the voltages the batteries require. That will line up with a charge profile for your battery that you will set on the ProNautic

Thank you for the reply on this. I called East Penn and I actually have flooded batteries and not AGM. The correct setting should be:
#1 "Conditioning VDC" 14.8 VDC and "Auto Maintain VDC Range" 12.8-13.6 VDC

Just saying hello- newer boaters in the PNW just stepping aboard. I feel like I searched hours for this thread and just stumbled into it today!
