310 Sundancer Thread (2007 & newer)

Also coming home we went straight from Bimini to West Palm, fueled in Jupiter and then Canaveral (stayed night in Canaveral), then back to Daytona next am. You planning on going with a group of people? You'll love the trip, my wife and I took another couple with us and still didn't really feel cramped for the week on the boat.

I have a 2007 310 it has 200 ft. We have put over 340 hrs on her and have had since 2/22/08. I was looking for some canvas pictures. I WANT Full canvas but I don't want to ruin the lines of the boat

There was a 330 Sundancer on E-bay 2008 model and the cushion on the back of the coach in the cabin folds up. I want to find out how that is removed, does anybody know? It had full legnth hinge and two gas struts similar to the one on the rumble seat. It would be nice to have the extra storage.

Great to see this forum. I have a 2008 310DA bought new April 2009. First Axius on our lake....many small problems....most due to marina's poor customer service. Finally getting my original punch list finished. My question is this; The marina sold the boat to me with skyhook, even though it was not available at the time. Now available, the marina wants to charge to install it. After a meeting with the "higher ups" they have offered to install it now at no cost. They don't recommend the install on an inland lake. They have offered an in-store credit instead of Skyhook if I want. My thought is looking at resale long term. Is it worth adding now or not? Would appreciate other 310 owner's thoughts

I have an 09 310 and live in the NewEngland area so my boat required winterization. The marina told me due to the realtivly thin Arch design of this boat, they did not want to shrink wrap it but instead, store it inside. Now you guys down south don't have this problem but the cost to store inside is a more than outside with shrink wrap. For you people in the colder climates, any comment on shrink wraping the 310 over the arch?

Mine has been shrink wrapped twice now and I see no problem.

I'm failing to understand what you mean by "thin arch".

Geoman, I'm down in Brick NJ and we just got walloped with 2 feet plus of snow. The marina is Marine Max and all the boats here are shrinkwrapped. They place a plastic 55 gallon drum up on deck in front of the swing windshield that supports any load.
Glen, I've got the 08 310 DA with the Axius and Skyhook, bought it used with 30hrs on it loaded! Have used the Skyhook twice while waiting to tie up at the dock. It's okay, if I didn't have it I wouldn't miss it!:smt009

JimG,
"Thin Arch" was what the marina owner said. He then went on to say if they shrink wrap over the arch, it would make it susceptible to damage from snow and high winds. I think it is a crock of crap myself. I think he just wanted to charge me for inside storage since he had the room. Would you mind telling me how much the shrink wrap cost you? Did you have to remove your radar or any other accessories mounted on the arch? Also, if Marine Max did the winterization, how much did they charge? I got a bill for $3500 for the storage (inside) and winterization. I don't believe they changed the oil but I'm waiting for a complete breakdown of the charges.

My total winterization cost $4500. That included everything
Hauling
Bottom Cleaning
Winter Storage
Shrinkwrap
Servicing Gene, outdrives,engines and transmission.
Pump out of waste tank and fresh water tank and winterizing
Toping off with fuel
and a smile when I wrote the Check!:smt089
The shrink wrap wasn't as expensive as I thought, it was under $500. and they went around my antenae and over my "R2D2" and radar dome with a nice tight fit!

Hey Geoman,

Sorry but your marina is giving you a snow job. For whatever reason. There is no such thing as a thin Sea ray arch. I think the marina has a thin wallet and thats the real issue.

I'm from Orange Ct and do all my boating in the sound and rivers and have dealt with many marinas good and bad.

Just my opinion.

Then $3500 may not be too far out of line unless your fuel expense was a significant portion. Interesting, our current marina wants the fuel tanks empty. The last marina we had wanted them full. Since vapors are far more volatile, I would think full is better but then again, who knows. BTW Last summer they charged me $800 to change the oil and filters in the Gen and Eng's. If they included this in the service they billed me for then I will not feel so bad.

$2700 for Inside Storage, winterization, bottom cleaning, hauling, commissioning in the spring.

I'm going to have a conversation with the marina after they send me the break down. Did you pay about $500 for the shrinkwrap?

Geo, I had about 50 gallons in each tank so even at $4.00/gallon to top off that would only be $200.!
Here's the breakdown from my invoice;
Shrink wrap Boat-$270. Labor
White Film-$137.20
Mildew Bag-3x $5.57= $16.70
Shop Supplies-$25.00
Access Door Labor-$26.25
Access Door-$19.99
Shop Supplies-$3.80
Total $498.94
I think they be HOSING you big time!!!:smt013

Geoman, I pay $300 for shrinkwrap ,$600 for hauling, powerwashing, blocking, and outdoor storage, and re-comissioning . I have an "arch" and i think it actually helps when shrinkwrapping it creates an angle down to the bow so the wind and rain, snow run off. This is the reason why i learned to do my own maintenance, changing oil, filters etc can run up a pretty bill. As far as things like mildew bags i use my own the main ingrdient in mildew bags is calcium chloride which i have a 50lb bag anyway so i fill open containers with foil trays under them and place them in the boat for the winter works awesome and costs pennies, they are $10 or more at home depot. just little things like that help. the access door for the shrinkwrap is reusable too this is my third season using it it cost $30 the first time they shrinkwrapped the boat.

My dealer charged me $250 to shrink and $500 to store outside (with security). I don't think they removed anything from the arch... but I will check.

Edit: I got the above prices reversed... here is the correct breakdown:

Winterization:
Engines (2) 570.28
Generator 148.06
Water System 123.67
Head System 49.00
Air Conditioning 57.64
Shrink Wrap 480.18
Storage (on your trailer) 250.00

Hey Jim, It's nice to see they shrinkwrap the outdrives also! My starboard drive was pulled during maintenance (in Oct.) found a leaky seal (Warrantee item) and it's been off ever since. No covering or anything!

Hope you all don't mind me changing the topic...

Anybody have an after-market grill? Where did you mount it on your 310?

Thanks!

No worries, you're on topic!

I use a Magma grill with the standard deck mount rod. I got an 8" piece of Delrin that fits in the aft flag holder and drilled it so the grill rod fits in it snug. No drilling for any mounts. Just remove the flag poll and put the grill mount in. Works great!
