I have a 1991 310 express cruiser that has fuel feeding problems that we have narrowed down to the tank itself. It might be the fuel feed tube. Does anyone know if the 100 gal. fuel tanks were manufactured with more than one fuel feed tube? There are 3 large nuts on the top of the tank that look like the same size as the fuel feed tube I am using. Are they spare feed tubes?

I can't find who the tank manufacture is or I would call them and ask the questions.

Do you know if the fuel feed tubes have a mesh screen at the bottom that might get clogged up?

Thank you in advance for any information.

Every fuel tank I've seen has an ID plate with the manufacturers name and model number on it. Get down in the engine room with a flashlight and a mirror. The take a picture of the ID plate with your cell phone. Sea Ray usually used Florida Tank.

Thank you (very belated).
The problem turned out to be bad gas. It cost me over $1,000 in parts and labor to finally determine that it as just the gas. We drained the two tanks, let the non-ethanol gas sit for 4-6 days and then siphoned off the gas into portable gas cans. There was definitely some chemical floating on the bottom of the tank. We suspect it was a gas additive. I used the gas in my car and truck and they seems to not care what was in it. New gas in the boat and my problems went away instantly.
The problem was the RPM fluctuated 200-1200 rpm and sometimes the engine would totally die. my new Port engine did it more than my old Starboard engine which seemed to only fluctuate 100-300 rpm.

Hummm, that makes sense the car works boat doesn't. I'd contribute that to the boat being carb and no computer to compensate for the fuel burn rate. The car has the brain to adjust the burn rate.
