Just to make the rest of you guys jealous. Look at the design on the back window and our little cabin doors! I saw these while cruising through boat trader today.

I am looking at purchasing one of these.
Does any one know the head room in the cabins and the bed length. I am 6'4"?
Did the 1980ies model ever come with tiwin 454s?

I'm 6'-4" tall and the head room is OK for me. Every one of these I have seen has 350's, never seen one with 454's. The reason being I'm sure is the 350's barely fit.

I don't even wanna think about what it would be like to work on my boat if it had 454's

My wife made me put in matching seats on the fly bridge after we got the bench seat storage built. I had to take off my beloved high back Sea-Ray captains chair :smt089

Hey guys, I just wanted to let you know I just got a new taller pedestal for my helm seat. The stock one was so damn low I felt like I was sitting on the deck and it was killing my knees. It took some research to find the correct pedestal manufacturer because of the 3-hole design of the base mount but I found it. Here is a web link and picture if you want to do the same thing:

So, I need to troubleshoot my alarm buzzer circuit and I am looking for some help. I was having some water temp issues on Saturday so I started to dig into the system.

For starters, my water temp gauges were not reading properly. The starboard would come up just slightly, but the port wouldn't at all. So I replaced the senders with new ones today, working good now. They got up to about 125 after about 10 mins of idling. Will know for sure how well they do this weekend.

Next, I decided to throw in a new water temp alarm switch sender as well to be sure that they work properly. The new unit looked different than the old ones, but I was told that this replaced the old style now. However, when I grounded out the wire, the alarm buzzer didn't sound. (I know the buzzer was working on Saturday as I lost the port impeller and it sounded.) However, when I replaced the impeller on Sunday morning, the alarm sounded for a little bit and then kind of died out, but sounded bad. The new impeller was pumping a lot of water when this alam sounded so I don't think it was hot. Maybe there is a time delay on the buzzer? I only held the wire against ground for about 5 seconds at a time, max today when I was testing it. I wouldn't think that there would be.

Also, does anyone know where the alarm buzzer is? I was operating from the flybridge helm at the time and it sounded like it was coming from under the gauge panel on the left of the steering wheel. When I looked for it, I couldn't find it anywhere. I know it must be there somewhere. Anyone ever work on this before?

Thanks for the help guys!

Resorected!!!!

I just picked up a 85 300 with a set of 260's in her. No Genny and not sure of the vac yet but I have done some central vac units in a few customers boats and will probably be doing one in mine.

So I have not got the boat back to the shop yet but have a few questions if anyone can help me out.

1st. If I remove the kitchen table thingy can I take out the step easily? I would rather have the room over the table ( and the fouton thingy too).... There is no Genny and from what I have been reading here I will need to get access to the storage under the table and plan on putting one in there asap.

Also does anyone know where I may be able to get a radar arch for one of these guys with a big canvas enclosure? I am a big time garmin guy and plan on putting all kinds of cool toys in her.

I will be completely re-dooing the dash when she gets back to the shop too so I can get some Garmin components flushed into the dash area. I told the little woman that I would use it as a demo boat for "work" so I might as well pretend...
Thinking a few multi function gauges and a nice new switch pannel should free up enough space for a 5208.

Now for the fun stuff....
I have a set of edelbrock aluminum cylinder heads and will be picking up another set soon as she gets here. Between the aluminum better flowing heads and a couple sets of Gil aluminum high flow exhaust manifolds I can get 100-125hp a side and loose 300lbs ish a motor. cant wait to see how she runs.

For the really fun stuff I have lots of Garmin boxes sitting at the shop waiting. I have been looking for a while and building my collection of parts.

Garmin 5208 touch screen, a GXM51 Sat weather module. I have 2 Garmin NMEA 2000 fuel flow meters, a gsd24 digital sounder, and a 18hd radar. I cant wait to start the wiring. I have a few tricks to make it really cool.
I have a RF mouse that will work with the 5208 and it can be attached to a Tv in the helm so when I am down stairs I can put the right channel on the tv and with the mouse controll everything on the 5208. Likie having a 32" Garmin down stairs. Also when I am driving and someone is in the salon they can watch the map to see progress. Also a set of IR cameras for the engine room to keep an eye on everything.

If I cant find an arch I will have to build one and I really dont want that project right now.

Also gonna make a bigger swim platform cuz we are divers and the little platform is just too small with fins on.

BOat will be at the shop next mon or tue and I will grab a bunch of before pics and maybe start a thread on the electrical.

Oh I almost forgot, I have 3 seablaze2 underwater lights in blue. The boat has blue canvas and stripes.

That is awesome, thank you very much. There not even as bad as I expected them to be price wise. How was it to put up? Looks fairly simple.

I've been looking at these also, buy the way , they both look great. You have come a long way with your boat Tom.
I'm going to bring mine home for the winter and replace the dreaded blue carpet in the interior. If there is any money left in the spring it's going to get a radar arch.
Thanks Rick
