300DB Thread

well,I tried to get pictures here,no luck.I did get some on my album. One of the stern and one showing tape measure measuring distance between manifolds.

LOL yeah, I have started to grow mold in my arm pits since I moved here!

Jorge, In your part of the country I think the canvas on the windows would help you keep your cabin cooler. My 300 came with smoke windows in the back, but since I will be operating my boat in Alaska, when I replaced them, I went with regular windows...................

Yeap, your right, is hot on the caribbean even on winter you can get 80's .
i like to have light on the cabin.
who do you post the picture on the post?

Just installed a new captains seat:

Also got the fly bridge canvas finished (hard to see with all the snow):

The seat sucks! I think you need to send that to me for proper disposal!

I like the canvas. I believe I will have mine done like that, although the top over the back will have to be able to fold up. How do you like the tunnel?

 hahaha..... that seat is so sweet, what a great deal.

We took the boat out for a cruise Saturday morning before the snow started and that seat was awesome!

The tunnel is great too! Easy to get up and down from the fly bridge and everything is DRY.:smt038

 Another PNW 300db owner. I'll post some pics of the new interior later today.

has anyone done repairs on their sliding windows.if so,how did it work out?

I am telling you that was a pain in the .......
I thought I had seen a thread on here about this and wanted to find out how it worked out.Any pointers, advice on this task ? By the way, I like chair that Pack66Dad got.

Finally got the new radios, navigation and sonar installed. Went with Standard Horizon Radios (one with AIS on the flybridge). Lowrance HDS GPS/Sonar, 7" on the flybridge and 5" for the lower helm. All these units are networked together.

Looks good. I have a remote mic for my VHF radio for the bridge.

Question: HDS-7 and 5. What kind of transducer did you use and where did you mount it? How did you verify it was accurate?

I am also going with the HDS-7, but only on the bridge for now.

The transducer (Lowrance PDT-WBL) is mounted in the forward bilge. The installer from West Marine set it up and calibrated everything. I know that in my slip at high tide it is approximately 60' deep, that is what the new sonar reads too.
When you install the new unit make sure you install the NMEA 2000 networking component. Then you can add to the system in the future if you want to add radar or a second GPS/Sonar.
BTW, West Marine kicked everyone else's butt on price for the equipment and the installation too, plus its all guaranteed.

With that HDS 7 it is very very easy to plumb in two fuel flow meters into the fuel supply lines, then run a NMEA 2000 network cable to the HDS, plug it in and you have very accurate fuel flow meters. I did that to my 300 before I sold it and it worked great

Edit, I see you have the NMEA already. Even easier now, just put the flow meter transducers in and plug into the network.

That is a great idea, thanks for the tip. The fuel flow meters are next on my wish list...... going to get a new dinghy and motor this week first.

Tom- Here is picture of my transducer installation:

Like I said, he just built a dam with that stick and poured in the epoxy then set the transducer.
