300 Sundancer questions.

Welcome to the 300 Masilobes! I love the 300 and am getting excited to get the wrap off ours soon. Not sure on your wire, went through the schematics and did not see anything. Wondering if anyone knows what size they used for the name lettering?
Not a biggie but would love to add the bass. All the wiring was there under the aft headliner in my 280 I just needed to add the sub

I just did this upgrade over Christmas break. New Sport Fusion speakers on deck all around in including cutting in 10" fusion Sub under the helm seat. New 5 channel amp under the bed in the bow of the cabin. All wires are there including the sub wire. I found this however, after running a new wire. I fished several wires behind the cabinets to the closet that sits on the bed and the fishe that down to the location where the OEM 2 channel amp is installed. Then from where the stereo is I fished up to the helm and seat. Wasn't bad, but the hardest part of the whole job.

Question about replacement canvas for 2003 330DA. Any experience with North American Waterways? The price is quite less than Great Lakes.

This post has been pretty quite lately. I am sorry I don't have any experience with North American Waterways but did get what I thought was a great price from Great Lakes but had to put the $$$ in other unfortunate needs on the boat this winter. I am interested in what others have experienced. It is on my list for next winter.

IMG_20170424_213536268_HDR.jpgMy new Simrad 9g is wider and will leave a few inch hole where the old raymarine is coming out. My marina wants to use star board(?) Bevel and paint match. I have seen photos of a after panel that matches the keypads... Any ideas on where to find one?

Did you try FlounderPonder? Or even eBay?

Tecnografic in Florida makes the panels.

Found the sub wire at the amp but where is it at the helm seat?

While I was installing a new mast light, I accedently allowed two of the hot wires coming off the new light to touch. Rookie mistake. But it happened.

Im hoping that I didn't short out the actual navigation light switch? However I can't finds the fuse or breaker for the navi lights? Any help would be appreciated.

Also, all the other lights switches and electronics are working. The only things that aren't working are the navigation lights.

Hi all

And a big thank you to all for the great discussions here through the years...

I got my first Sea Ray in May, and it has been a very interesting journey...Be aware of foolosh questions coming up! Had great fun looking for the secret compartment

On a sharing note, my 300 (335 in europe) has Volvo diesels engines (2×285hp) which do not seem that common. I am still guessing regarding consumption but it should be a bit less. The boat does seem a bit heavy on the rear but cruising is nice at 2900 rpm and 26 knots (full water, fuel 3/4, 2 persons).

Cheers, The Finn

I'll hold off for now with the foolishness...but I do have a leaking problem. This has bee covered quite well but just in case anybody has more to contribute / advise.

So, the carpet below the stairs is getting wet. I found 10 gallons of water around the fresh water tank and compartments just aside of it (port side). May be a lot of it has been there for quite some time, hard to tell. So a couple of questions:

1) your bet on the true root cause? Rubrail, windows, anchor hatch, horn, kleets...I have ruled out fresh water inside, pretty sure it is rain water. So just start hosung down and testing where it comes from?
2) If the same leaks are on the standbord side, where would the water go? Do have a quiete bomb waiting for me somewhere?

So, I have tightened everything on the deck and windows and at least I cant see any water coming in when I hosed the boat with the garden hose.

I am still not convinced, water might shift while lifting here to plane...we'll see...

Btw, should there be a bit of water in the shower sump, that little plastic container, or should it be more or less dry?

I had this problem a couple times. The carpet in the lower cabinet on the starboard side of the mid-cabin also would get wet. I noticed it happened primarily when I did a thorough cleaning of the cockpit and helm floor with a hose.

The problem was with water getting through the screw holes from the L-brackets used to secure the helm seat / cabinet unit to the floor. I removed them all and properly sealed them...never had another issue.

In the process of finding this, I also noticed another possible problem area. Water can possible gather on the sill below the head portal and then make its way down the gunwale. This could happen during a shower, or if the portal was left open and it rained. I used clear silicone to seal the interface between the sill and the wall. This could result in water collecting in the bulkhead beside the water tank.

Hope this helps!

It's normal for there to be some water in the sump. The air conditioner condensation collects there, in addition to the shower.
