300 Sundancer questions.

I checked with the previous owner today and he had no idea??? Maybe something to do with the vacuflush(spare part, winterizing part)? He did not do the winterizing himself and does not remember seeing it. It was zip tied to one of the batteries and I am guessing the mechanic used it for something to do with off season.

I couldn't tell from the angel of picture. But dose it seem like it could be used to loosen the battery terminals?

Could you post some more pictures of it?

Im still having trouble with the photobucket link you posted. It looks like it got corrupted. Can you cut and paste it from PB again or choose one of their auto links?

Go to photo bucket open the picture to copy then in share links on the right side there will be options the bottom option left click on IMG it will turn yellow and say copy then come back to your new thread or reply thread right click on paste then you can go to ( go to advanced) left click on the thread to view it.

I think this will work... My 16 year old daughter just laughed at me in photo bucket, took my laptop for a few minutes and gave it back to me with that link in the reply using Google drive. Please let me know if anyone can see them from the link.

I've never seen anything like it on mine. It is too long for a transducer plug, or anything used for winterizing.

It might be worth while to post this in the "general discussion" section as it might be seen by more people.

Some great news from insurance company today!!! "water reversion" is being covered, full amount minus deductible. The surveyor said when the transom assemblies were replaced the flappers although installed correctly being the newer Merc model flappers they did not function properly with the older style y pipes. This spring this 02 will go back in the water with two brand new transom assemblies along with two new long blocks. While motors are out replacing hotwater tank not that it does not work but I don't plan on having the engines out for a long time. I will also paint the bilge before they go back in. Other things on the list is new shift cables and having both b3's new seals and fresh paint, update the old Raymarine and install new ship radio. Through in camper back and she should look real good for her age! She should for what I will have into this 14 year old boat:smt021. I will try to take some pics along the way.

Great news GA - I've been rereading this thread over the weekend and caught up with you story. Glad this came to a good resolution for you. Looks like you bilge will be good as new - congrats.

My wife and I have now been out 3 times in the last 6 weeks since taking possession. Have had fun with it and I have had lots of "what happens when I do this?"...

Docked successfully in our slip but need lots of practice. We are looking forward to more sunny Saturdays and Sundays during the winter to take her out and get some practice in.

BTW - I've found a great site and info on driving/docking dual stern drive boats. https://boatingwithdawsons.com. You should check it out. I've found the lessons to help a ton and they teach docking and tight turning with the steering wheel rather than just the drives as I've read in this thread and else where. I found it to work much better.

Chat soon...

As the adventure continues I am having the starboard lower unit rebuilt for a tune of 3k and looking to purchase a new port side. does anyone know the ratio for the bavo 3 2002 5.7 efi? I found several some 2.2, 2, and one like 1.85 or close.

Hi dvx, I am sorry you have had no response, this thread has been pretty silent lately. Not familiar with the 94-97 range but I do love the 300.... well most of them anyways, The relationship I currently have with my girl is very volatile. She stole my heart with her sexy lines and promise of good times and as soon as I made the commitment she has been nothing but a needy b&%ch. I think a move to a 300 from a 230 is a great move, you will love the extra space and amenities. The advice I would give would be a good survey both on the boat and mechanics.

Upgraded from a 280 to 300. The 280 thread was awesome for info. Now just looking for some of the same stuff. In the 280 whether you ordered the upgraded stereo and speaker option or not, the wiring was hidden in the headliner for a sub . Now in the 300 the subwoofer would go under the helm seat. I don't have it but is the wiring still there somewhere?

Welcome to the 300 Masilobes! I love the 300 and am getting excited to get the wrap off ours soon. Not sure on your wire, went through the schematics and did not see anything. Wondering if anyone knows what size they used for the name lettering?
