300 Sundancer questions.

Ok. I will check again. I don’t know how I would’ve missed it but stranger things have happened. I noticed in the first pic that was sent to me of the panel that it didn’t appear that boat had a generator. Do you have one? Could that be the difference? I know there is a couple of extra switches and a slide on a generator panel. But you would think something important like the waste level gauge if it had to be moved, wouldn’t have been moved far.

I gotta get back to the boat. This is gonna drive me nuts now

I did have the Kohler gen, but it was an option so some boats won't have those switches. When I got mine, the generator was low hours -- not used enough -- and didn't run well. There were receipts for all kinds of work done and parts thrown at it by the P/O mechanics. I got it working and running well, but they can be finicky!

The slide switch is so you can only have the shore power OR genny on at the same time.

I sold mine a couple months ago and already miss it

Genny on

Yes, as shown in the pictures the waste tank level is in the middle of the panel and should be there regardless if a generator is present or not.

Ok. I must’ve missed it. I’m heading back to the boat Wednesday. Will let you guys know how I made out.

Thank you very much guys

Heading to the boat tomorrow to check the panel for the waste gauge.

In the meantime, have any of you found something to cover the arch speakers when the mooring cover is installed? I know that they are marine speakers and built for the outdoor environment but the thought of them constantly being exposed to all weather conditions doesn’t sit well with me.

For those that leave the boat open or use a mooring cover, I've never seen anyone cover them.

It was right in front of me the whole time. Thanks guys.

While I was there today I pulled the hatch cover in the floor of the cabin. Wanted to just do a visual. Lifted the float switch outside of the sump reservoir. Pump came right on. Took cover off sump basin. Was about 1/4 way full of anti freeze. That appeared to be a different style of float switch so I couldn’t test it. Probably wouldn’t have anyway as it would’ve pumped out anti freeze.

Anyway. I noticed two lines coming in which were both marked. AC condensate and shower drain. One discharge line out. With that said, I guess the two sinks both discharge directly overboard?

Yep. With them being well above the water line, they can be safely routed straight out the side.

Did the one (inside the box) look like either of these? If so there's usually either a knob or lever on the side so you can test the switch

On mine the AC drain would empty right on top of the wiring to the float switch. They would only last a year. I know it's supposed to be a waterproof connection but in my case they never lasted.

https://marinespeakercovers.com/ makes different sized speaker covers if you would like to cover them.

From when I owned my 2004 300DA, I have a flash drive with every manual for just about every factory system on the boat. Plus some extra stuff like the detailed instructions on how to remove the sliding door. If one of you current owners wants it just PM me your address and I’ll send it to you. I guess I should have offered it up when I sold the boat nine years ago.

Yes. It looked like the one on the bottom. There was a small wiring harness above the general area where that test switch is. I definitely didn’t see it. Thank you. Good to know.

Hey all. Just want to thank everyone here that contributes to this site. Hopefully that will include me once I know WTF this new monster is all about. It literally has me up at night as I try to hash through this thread and understand what I’m up against. I’ve gotten as far as postings for the 2012 calendar year and read on anytime I can. I have a lot of experience on the water but this new to us 300DA we just picked up in September then quickly winterized is VERY INTIMIDATING, and seems very very complicated compared to the 22’ Penn Yan Outrage we just sold.

I don’t know what I would do without this resource and fellow 300DA owners.

Happy Holidays and again, thank you, thank you, thank you.

Was on the boat briefly yesterday checking on it. Been bitterly cold here on Long Island and I wanted to make sure everything looked ok. Especially the moisture absorbing containers. All good, nothing frozen.

Anyway, behind the factory Glomex gain adjusting dial bezel for the TV there was a wire that came out that appeared to have a small half a dome looking end on it. Only about an inch or so big, and looked like it might be an infrared receiver for maybe the original TV remote control?

Anyone can confirm what this is? Definitely looks factory as it comes out from the side of the plate behind the gain adjustment knob and the plate is definitely notched from the factory.

RAW WATER STRAINER GASKETS
I cant really identify the manufacturer of the bronze raw water engine intake and A/C strainers. I think they are Perko. I need new gaskets / O-Rings for the top cap where you pull out the mesh strainer. Looks like 3 inch for engine and 2 inch for A/C. Does anyone know the correct part numbers?
