300 h.p vs 350 hp 454 mercruiser

330 HP Mercs went from 330 HP to 300HP around 1992 to 1993. Both engines were identical but due to a change in how HP was measured the numbers were changed. 7.4s of that era were 330 at the crankshaft and 300 at the prop. It's about that simple.

Out N About
My 350 EB is only about 30 hours new to me.
Boat was a repo in very good shape, but am taking no chances
I am in the process of going through all of the engine and mechanical systems.
Recently pulled both out drives and replaced exhaust bellows along with all related shifter rubbers and bearings. Not cheap, but preventative.
Also replaced impellers and exhaust backflow preventers.
Boat was a 'river boat' in MO and found a lot of sand.
Put new anodes on last week (thanks CSR for www.boatzincs.com cannot say enough great things about Bob there), Painted bottom and starting to buff and wax this weekend.
New GPS Chartplotter and Bennett Auto Tab Controls on this weekend,
Tuned up in Sept (plugs, wires, cap and rotor) New outdrive lube canisters (Sea Ray changed design so bought 2)
Will be pulling Carbs next weekend to be rebuilt (one seems to be running very rich)
Hoping that all ofmthis work/joy/fun /money will alow me to make an uneventful trip from the Southern End of Lake Michigan to Elk Rapids in MI for Great Lakes Gathering in July!
Dan

That was the original question? :smt017 Thought it had to do with horsepower difference.
