300 da hatch warning

I will take a picture this weekend, but it is a swing down pole that is in the actual hatch, next to the table storage area. On the 320 there are two actuators, so that will help.
That would be great. Dealer said they would install one if they could find one that fits. I didn't see it in the parts manual for the 320DA but I may have missed it. Brian

The 290 has the same one. I'll post a pic later today. I didn't use it until I read the thread about being trapped in the EC. Scary! Mine rests on the thermostat housing. I use it every time now!

Is someone not working today ;).

The 340 DA has the same setup..although I wonder if that pole can hold the entire weight of the engine hatch!

Thanks for posting this. I just sent this to my cousin who is in the process of buying an '05 320DA.

Todd, Who Brady?

Yep. He's very excited and I'm happy for him. It's a very nice boat. I looked at it with him last Saturday. I just don't want his engine hatch to decapitate him.

He's got his 225WE in the clasifieds here.

Thanks Cincy, great shot. Considering this is all that it is, I am surprised that SR didn't continue it since there is a potential for liability. Hell, if nothing else, offered it as an option.

I cut me a 2x4 today so I will have something to hold the hatch if it fails..IF you have a 300 DA you need to cut 44 inches.

Also...I'm still not sure why my thread title was changed by the moderators to "300 da hatch warning". I'm sure other models with a single actuator like the 290DA should be aware of this too. This is a problem with the actuator, not the particular model boat.

Before I climbed down in the bilge this weekend....I thought about this thread. I had a 2 x 4 in my dock box....not sure how long it was. I set it in place....just in case.....

Perfect picture. Thanks. I can't figure out why the 07 290DA and 08 280DA has it, but not the 01-07 300DA's.:smt021 Even the 320 and 340DA's have the brace and they have twin actuators.
Update! I had this installed this week.

Greg, I think you posted this in the wrong thread. Aren't you looking for a 1988 46 footer? Good luck with your search. Brian
