Yesterday we hit 31C (88F) with a strong wind from the North, which blows hot. 3 bushfires sprung up around Sydney, houses were evacuated, none lost thankfully.
On my morning walk this morning I heard on the radio 3 months from summer and we are looking at a major bushfie year.
On the weekend my wife asked if I had got the TV fitted into the boat yet, as she has decided thats our escape route, she figures we can overnight there with 2 cats and a dog easier than anywhere else. My daughter and I both side, what about the warehouse, its a lot bigger and more comfortable. Her reply if we have to evacuate, both roads that direction are normally closed and congested.
We have been lucky now for about 5 years, with no flames in our valley, only problem with that is all the fuel that has built up, and it is about 16 years since the bush directly opposite from us burnt, so it is thick.
