Hi can anyone who owns or has previously owned a 290ss give me info on true fuel consumption with twin 350 mags, I'm thinking of getting one for my next boat but at current fuel costs of 7$ per gallon I need to make sure I know what I'm in for.

I have made it a habit to NOT keep track of fuel consumption and dollars other than to know how far I can go before I need to re-fuel. I certainly do not keep track of gallons per hour because of varying speed and such. Having said that I have the twin 350 Mags in my 290ss and I see about 1.2-1.4 miles per gallon at cruise speed which seems best around 32 mph. Even at 35 mph which also feels like a good cruise speed it does about the same. This boat does not like to cruise much below 30mph. I think it starts to fall off plane at<28mph. Hope that helps.
