Hi fellow boaters,

I am wondering if anyone has experienced the problem of the Electrical Interface Module (EIM) not working at all. I was having an issue with my trim tabs on that panel not working properly and the motor had gotten stuck in the on position somehow causing the entire panel not to work. I would have thought this would have blown just that fuse in the panel, but apparently it knock out the entire panel. The EIM for this panel is in the engine compartment next to the battery charger. Does anyone know if there is main fuse to this panel that may have blown causing the starboard EIM not to work at all? Any suggestions on how to troubleshoot this problem would be appreciated.

Part #2:

Fellow boaters,
I was able to use a chain fall with a sling to lift my engine hatch cover. I check the Aft EIM breakers to make sure they did not trip when the trim tab motor somehow got stuck on and knock the starboard panel out. At first, I thought that it would have just burn the fuse plug going to the trim tabs. I used a 12V test light to make sure that I had power going into the AFT EIM panel and that checked positive. I checked a couple of plugs that appear to be going out from the bottom of the AFT EIM and they checked positive as well. I then proceeded with removing the screws out of the EIM panel to remove the cover. Once, I removed the screws, I thought that it would pop right off like the helm forward EIM. I was wrong in making that assumption, for it appears some type of gray JB weld or product of the same type was applied around the cover making it impossible to remove. I am not sure whether this was done to make it explosion proof, keep moisture out or a self doer as my self, etc. Does anyone know whether this is normal for it to come from the manufacture like this, since it is in the aft engine compartment?

This will be interesting to see what has to be said. I did not know that either one of the EIM would come apart. I do know that moisture is not a friend to theses units
