I had a sea trial today on my Sundancer 290 2001....boat ran great and I am moving to the survey phase. This boat has the genset and AC. The genset is on the port side along with the battery bank. I noticed that from the stern the boat had a slight list to port. The holding and water&heater tanks were empty and all to starboard. Would that account for the list or is this just typical of how the 290 Dancer sits in the water? Current owner feedback and or reassurance would be much welcomed. I started a full mechanical survey today and I hope to be in my Sea Ray in a week or so.

Well, I can't speak to that specific set-up, but the previous owner of my 260 had the water tank (which is usually to port) moved to the platform where a genset would go (midship) because he complained of a "list to port". Since that fixed any list, my logic here is to say, "yes" the weight of a full water tank (a 25 gal tank weighing about 200lbs) would balance out the weight of the genset.
