What exactly does this switch do I followed the electrical schematic in the user manual but it goes into another harness , I was under assumption both the water pump and sea water pump worked off the engine belt . Sorry boat is a 2011 and dealer didnt inform me about the function of this switch and before I take it out I want understand it better , documentation is very vague. Thanks for everyones help

You're confusing "fresh water pump" with "circulating pump". The circ pump is the same thing as on a car... it circulates water throughout the engine and is belt driven. The fresh water pump (the "switch" you are referring to) is on your dash and turns on the fresh water pump.

Look through your manual - or download it from Sea Ray - there is lot's of good info in there that will answer many of your questions (including info about your question). It's worthwhile to read it.

As stated, this turns on the water pump for your sinks, showers, and toilet supply. That pump is mounted on top of the water tank at the rear of the in floor ski locker.

Yeah, now that makes sense Owners manual just shows a switch that says water pump and the symbol under it resembles the heat exchanger. I've found out the Owners manual I downloaded from the sea ray owners club doesn't have the most info in it for operating items. Thanks for the input I just wanted to be sure as not to burn up an impeller or something else. Again thanks for helping out

That little symbol is the standard symbol that's been used (not sure about other brands) by Sea Ray since as long as I can remember. It's supposed to represent a partially filled water tank... although I still, as of yet, haven't figured out why the two arrows are there. But it's not uncommon for people that are new to a system like this to ask what that is.

I just looked at your manual - it's funny, some years the manuals seem to have lot's of information in them and other years not as much. There's still good info in yours, but in other years they go into more detail regarding the various systems. You might want to check other years - or even other models - as the systems are still similar from model to model.
