does anyone know if they ever made a factory extended platform the the 1998 270 SE? i found an aftermarket setup from swimplatforms.com would really like to find one of the original ones if they made them

I don't think they ever offered one, hence the one from swimplatforms.
I put one on my 270 and loved it... considering adding to my 310 now.

thats whos i was looking at if we went with an aftermarket one. just hoping to find an original one if they ever made them. which it doesnt sound like it
No, Sea Ray never offered that back then on that model. It just wasn't a big priority 20 years ago, so it was never really a "thought". Especially on the smaller Dancers. The good thing about SP.com, though... the guys that started that business used to work at Sea Ray... building swim platforms! If you've done any searching on this site about them (do it, if you haven't - there's plenty of threads about them), you'll hear nothing but good things about them.

I put a swimplatform from swimplatforms.com onto my Sundancer 250. It was pretty easy to do. The only help needed was to have someone hold the nut on the bolt as they were tightened. Very solid product, good support, and it added a lot to the apparent size and comfort of the boat. Also got the sterndrive more out of the way.
