Hi all.

I am new to the SR family and to my 2003 270 SD. It had 109 hours on it when I got it and it looked/smelled factory fresh.

I keep it in a slip on the Hudson about 20 minutes from my home.

So far, 50 hours later (in one month) I love the boat and the new addition to my lifestyle (although my golf game is suffering).

I spend about 50% of my time on the water pulling my kids (age range 9-15) on skis, wake boards and tubes.

I know this giant is not the ultimate ski boat, but life is about compromises, right?

I would like to install a ski tower on this boat (well, not me, but a professional will do the drilling and all that).

Here is my question: Have any 270 SD owners (or owners of similar boats) done a retrofit?

If so, did you go with an after-market tower or did you purchase the OEM tower from Monster Tower?

One thing I am concerned about is factory bimini clearance. I have the factory bimini and the factory camper top and want to make sure the tower works with all that gear.

Thanks again for the time, all.

Welcome aboard :thumbsup:and congratulations on the new Boat! Can't help on the ski tower, but who ever does it needs to make sure that they reinforce the mounting location. I know when one is installed at the factory the hull is reinforced for it. IMHO Since you've only had it a while may just want to wait until that 2 footies hits and get one factory installed on the next boat:lol:

You might try Monster tower if the Sea Ray dealer comes in too expensive. I remember a thread about someone else doing a retro fit and drove their boat down to some place in TN that did a jam up job. Congratulations on the 270SD. Have fun!

I also have the 270SD and it is a great boat. I don't have a tower but was interested in adding one on. Extreme in Marystown TN makes the OEM tower. They sell it for $2700 but your canvas will not fit it. They are a sister company to Great Lakes Boat Canvas and they make the tower canvas which will cost you another $1500. I decided to wait till my Bimini needed to be replaced and then add the tower. What color is yours?

welcome and congrats on a great boat! just wanted to add that as a former single digit handicap golfer... I no longer care! (and it's a good feeling too! heh ) I remember the thread Stihl referred to as well.

Hi. I tried to attach a picture. It is the basic creme color with a silver and champagne graphic outside. With a putty/mocha interior and mocha canvas.

Thanks for the helpful info on the tower and canvas. I think I'll wait too.

I see you share the HotRod combo. What a rocket, huh?
