Hi all,

Our 2000 270 Sundancer came equipped with an 84" anchor light pole because there is no radar arch. It is a pain to store on the boat.

Is there any other option besides the 84" pole such as a telescoping pole or folding pole?

Thanks

Mark

The 84" pole is not what came with your boat if it's a 270SE special edition like mine the correct pole is in the parts manual page #1 item #4 light, nav masthead combo 39" w/37 Deg bend sea ray part #978445. You can download the manuals at sea rays website.

I bought my 2001 270DA brand new and it came with (and still has) an 84 inch tall anchor light that plugs into a recepticle above the rear hatch (trunk).

You can cut it down. Just make sure it sticks high enough over the front bimini so it stays legal. You'll need to account for that front bimini being higher than it is when the boat is on the trailer or in a slip. This is due to the bow being higher when you're running. Err on the long side.

Oh, I forgot to add... Yes, foldable poles are available. I've seen them on some of the newer Sea Ray sport boats. I don't know for sure, but I would guess that it's either a Perko or Attwood product.

I'd deal with it and leave it as high as possible. Mine stows in the mid cabin and is not that hard to stow or retrieve to deploy. It's approximately the 84" you're describing.
