Hi, I'm new to this forum. It looks like a great place for info on our boats. I have a 2006 Sundancer 260. It came with the mid level Clarion 6 CD stereo system and I would like to add a aftermarket subwoofer and amplifier. I plan on taking it to a local stereo store to have them install it. I contacted Searay and they would not disclose the wiring path needed to get connection from the headunit to the sub and amp. They told me it was proprietary Searay information. I plan on having the sub put in the factory location under the rear seat behind the captain's chair. Any help or advice would be greatly appreciated. Thank you

Hello and welcome to CSR. Glad to have another fellow 260DA owner on board.

I can't give you specific information on how the wiring is routed but if you pull the stereo out of it's mounting location you can probably get a better idea of how you might have to do the routing for the amp. You may have to drop the ceiling panel (and maybe the Air Conditioning panel) in the mid cabin to do the additional wiring back to the rear seat. Some of the other side panels and the trim panels may also have to come out first to be able to drop the ceiling panel. Just take a look at how it all fits first to determine which panels you need to remove to drop the ceiling panel. It's pretty cramped working in the mid cabin but the panels come out fairly easily. The little "buttons" you see on the panels are plastic covers for the actual screws you need to remove. Carefully pry them off to get to the screw heads. It will help if you have an assistant handy as you are doing the work. I have removed a couple of the side panels on mine to do some wiring from the bilge to the breaker box. Other than being a bit sore the next day, the job went fairly easy.
