I know the answer can be “go look around bilge,” but this came up right before docking and we had to hurry home. Now at work and mind wondering a bit.

Just got 2003 260 Sundancer. Ran Generator a week ago. When it was running, water started pumping at through hull right below captains seat. Was flowing very strong and steady. Assumed it was exhaust for generator.

yesterday, fired up generator and no water was coming out of near captains chair, It was coming out rear port side. And it flowed kinda with surges.
So question is: which one is generator exhaust? I am starting to think the one by captains is the shower sump. But we’ve never run shower (have used galley sink) and why did it only kick on when generator was on? I’m on shore power at slip.
Any clarity appreciated

Yes, the one by the captain's seat should be the shower sump. You'll have to investigate to figure out why it came on.

FYI, I think all of the thru-hulls are shown/labelled in the owner's manual if you want to double check. If you don't have the original, you can download it on SR's site.

I would guess the salon sink empties into the shower sump? We definitely used that. Could have just been a coincidence in timing maybe. Thanks for help

On some models of the '99-'04 260DA, the galley sink empties into the sump - on others it goes directly overboard. It depends on the year and which plant it was built in.

This is very helpful info. It would have to be the galley sink tripping the sump because shower hasn’t run. Will the sump run on 12 volt? I’d assume so. Also I have a vague memory of wife running sink close to the first time I started generator. Might have just been a weird timing

and it may not run right off... it has to fill the sump enough to float the switch. Then it will run with a steady stream until nearly empty.
