So, I had earlier in the summer replaced my sump box that received and pumped out the drain water from the shower/ac condensate etc, located underneath the stairs going down to the cabin. Now I am getting water in the recessed area around the box where it sits underneath the step going downstairs into the cabin. Their is a second sump pump there but it must not be turning on or something. There is float switch there next to the sump box but when I flip it over it only turns on the pump inside the box and not the pump outside the box. Does that second pump have a float switch on it? Or is there a second float switch down there that I am not seeing? Any ideas why they sump pump outside the box wouldn't be turning on? Any ideas appreciated.

The switch outside the box should turn on the pump outside the box.

Did you check what the switch inside the box is doing? Perhaps the float switches got reversed somehow?

Also the pump switch on the dash should activate the pumps in both the engine space and under the steps, but not the shower sump.

So that pump under the stairs does not turn on when I turn on the bilge pump at the helm. I flipped over the float switch down there and the pump in their does pump water. So for some reason the float switch is not turning on the pump but its clean and does work when I flip it over manually. Dumb question but is the fact that I can flip over this float switche (attwood) and that it is not fastened to the floor the reason why it is not working properlyand triggering to turn the pump on? If so that is probably the issue. Otherwise maybe this type of float switch (same attwood as in the bilge) is not appropriate for this area and I need one that is triggered at a lower water level to turn the pump on earlier.
