Hi, can anybody tell me where the airconditioner is located on a 2000 260 SD and how to gain access to it? Mine is tripping the circuit breaker when the compressor tries to come on.

in the aft cabin berth, starboard side. There is an access door and return air grille

The wall with the return grill is covered with material. I do not see a panel unless it’s behind the material. If this is the correct location how do you remove the material wall to expose the hidden panel, I don’t want to break anything. I did see some panels under the cushions in the aft cabin that were screwed down and caulked with silicone but from your instructions I need to look behind the wall not under the floor.

When I installed my heater I had to remove a few panels to get to the starboard panel where your A/C unit is.
Take a close look there is a panel beneath the helm seat you'll need to get off too. Look for the small caps that cover the fasteners.

Thanks; Pictures are worth a thousand words. I’m heading to the marina soon to try and remove the panel

Take your time. The screws are stainless and the materials they're screwed into is starboard, so too much torque can break the heads off. A slow speed and a screw gun can be your friend.
Good Luck

Ok, I found the Air conditioner but it was not easy. My Aft cabin area wall panels only had two screws showing and they were about an inch above the floor panels. I removed them and then I started to feel around the edge of the panel and I could feel were there was a screw beneath the panels covering. I had to pull the fabric back enough to expose the screw head for removal. I also had to remove the panel attached to the forward wall. It looks like Sea Ray builds and covers the panels then they put a 3” slice in the material on the back side to allow you to pull the fabric back, put in the screw and then tuck the material back.
