We presently own a 22ft Pontoon on Lake Lanier, we have owned many different boats during our lifetime including 3 Searays.
We are considering a 240 Sundeck next year and I am curious as to what you are getting as GPH at cruising speed, say 25/28 mph.

I read a boat test on the net on a 240 Sundeck but it was a 2001 model, we will probably buy a 2005 model.

Thanks in advance.

Just out of curiosity, how much time on Lanier would you plan on going 25/28? The 240SD is the greatest lake boat in the history of earth, but the wake on Lanier is pretty rough for any of the runabouts.
Here are the specs, though. After five tries, I couldn't get the fuel results to format properly. However, bottom line, figure about 7.5 gph at 25 mph.

Fuel consumption (gallons per hour) measured with Floscan digital fuel-flow meter on gas inboards, sterndrives, and outboards, TechMate electronic scan tool on gas EFI inboards, Caterpillar digital fuel-flow meter on diesel engines, or permanently installed fuel-monitoring equipment. Range is based on 90% of published fuel capacity. Sound levels determined using Radio Shack digital decibel meter on A scale. 68 dBA is the level of normal conversation.

We spend a lot of time on Lanier with our Pontoon at around 17 mph and have no problem. Most runabouts in the 18 to 25 ft range run 25 or faster everytime that I see them.

We are retired so we mostly boat during the week when no one is hardly out there.

Thanks for the info.

I figured it out...here are the stats

Interesting table. I always figured and was pretty accurate 10 GPH at 27 to 30MPH with a range of about 150+- miles. Turning about 3200+- RPM
