We went from a 2004 Sundeck to a Sundancer now we are considering going back to a 2006 or 2007 Sundeck. The one thing we didn't like was the low tow hook height for tubing and wakeboarding. I don't want to put a tower on the boat because of the lift and I don't want to fold it. I was at a boat show a couple of weeks ago and noticed a few manufacturers are supplying a short 12"-18" tow bar that fits into a socket on the transom....

Has anyone modified their tow hook or fabricated something or have another product they are using to raise the tow point approx 2 feet higher than current?

Appreciate the responses

We don't have a problem with where it is located, but we are not doing real big jump on the board. Don't think the "supplying a short 12"-18" tow bar that fits into a socket on the transom.... " option would work to good on the 240 don't really have a good solid place to mount it any higher??? The simple thing may be to run a ski harness between the two back cleats.

I don't remember where I saw it but there is a 3 point pilon that that can be mounted on the rear of the boat. You are going to have to do some fiberglass cutting. :smt009

How would you mount such a thing on a 240. :smt021

Use a little imagination there Chuck. Cut that pylon about 2/3 of the way up. Just be hind the light plug on the underside glass in a 4 or 5 inch square block of wood. Drill a large enough hole to place a stainless receiver insert in the hole and glass that in. Get two flip down receiver clips drilled into the swim platform and your ready. Pull out the pylon, insert it and swing the support lets out to the swim platform. When your finished pull it out.

A custom shop could make the pylon with long enough support legs to make it work and anyone that could install a after market wake board tower. If you have not taken a look at some of the ski/wake board boats, there are a couple that have the disappearing pylon on the rear deck.

we have this problem with our 220. When smaller kids are on the tube the rope catches the wake a lot. Sprays the kids in the face and also makes it hard to get them to go back and forth at a slower speed.

I like the one that is mounted in the fiberglass like in the pictures by firstborn but that wouldn't work for my 220....no fiberglass back there.

I'm having the same problem, and was wondering if somebody out there has a product that could go on the swim platform? There is a cutout area that has four holes in it to see the prop I'm guessing. It is held in place with a few screws, it would be great if there was something to go there, like a pole mounted on something that fits that hole.....

I think I saw something that would work with the whole for the back table. The pole would go in there and then strap to the back cleats or something.

Take a look at the Roswel Air Wake site. We installed an air boom many years ago and without doubt it far exceeded our expectations for quality, ease of install and improved tow for the boarder. The cables were aircraft quality, stainless poles and fittings and overall a superior product. We had to mount a floor plate in front of the rear seat and drilled two holes for the side pole support. The boom was about 8' high. Much cheaper than a tower, easy to remove and stores in its own zippered bag.
