Must be some kind of a design flaw...

Try bolting a hydrofoil to the back of your jeans....that should keep you steady...

See the thread about the best BBQ for the 240DA...

Maybe that's the solution... Keep it installed in the rod holder on the port side while on plane, then when you slow down, have it moved to the stbd side rod holder...

PROBLEM SOLVED!

This still dosen't fix the problem with the Jeep. Or the hangover...

Turtle Tone, we need to hook up somewhere on the CT or LI coast and anchor for the weekend... TurtleTonePalooza 07!!! You must be a blast to hang out with...

we'll never find each other cause we never got our burgee's.

I think we should organize a LI sound get together. After reading all the great fun the big guys had at BIH, I feel left out. I was thinking of trying to make it down there but there's a defect in my 280. when I get on the open ocean with big rollers, my 280 rolls.

I know it is Friday, but can we end this one now. I do not want to stay up tonight again on this same thread. :smt021

No fear. this is my last post on the subject. It's friday, I'm going to finish up some work and then take my defective jeep and head out to the boat for the weekend. I have a new trim pump to install and a dinghy to sink. then I'm going to race by all the 240's in the bay so I can watch their defective boats rock in my huge 280 wake.

Wesley...Wesley....Wesley, where is your spirit of adventure? Are not you interested to see where this thread ultimately winds up? My guess would be the garbage dump but what do I know..

Have a nice weekend. Next week this will all be a bad memory and we can get back to being nice-nice to each other and discuss boating and the merits of a big boat over a small boat (I didn't mean to say that  )

Are you sure your smart enough to install a trim pump?

And don't wear one of those lucky hat's while driving the dink, those have been known to cause instability in the captain!

Sorry, just couldn't help myself.....

A bad memory, a waste of perfectly good bandwidth and of time for those who bothered.

I didn't bother for long but I was able to add a couple of names to my "list".

Turtle Tone, is this you and your new hats????[/img]

Seriously, let's stay on point here. Regarding the 240 stability problem. Maybe the Capn could hire a big fat guy to be moving ballast. If it works, I might patent the idea and sell it to Brunswick. I'll call it "SmartBallast".

There is a major design flaw in your smartballast. Due the serious instability of the 240, the fat guy would be constantly moving around deck and would thereby loose so much weight to the point that the his ballast would be useless.....BUT.....you could market it as a weight loss program on late night TV....

Jim.......can you please explain to these fellas what this post is all about?

2 4 0 D A owners 2006 and newer only.........Instability problems-

I don't own that boat so I guess I can't help, even though I know the answer.

Think mass inertia and distance from the fulcrum of the center of gravity.

That is all.

PS ~ what that means is that this particular model of vessel has a very high center of gravity perched atop the aftcabin and when people wander around far atop that center, it will affect the trim of the boat much moreso than others that cruise through the wetstuff at much lower coefficients of vertical weight.

I still like my big fat guy idea. Might have to feed him Krispy Kremes to offset the calories burned.
