235 miles today, across Gulf, 1 tank of gas, 16 hours

Hey guys........try reading these posts for content instead of words.

My point was that after boredom sets in on a long trip, you get so dazed you will sing anything to yourself, not that I like 50's or 60's music............ Give me some good old Southern Rock, some Eagles, Doobies, Boz Skaggs, Steely Dan and a little ZZ Top, and "I'm 3 steps out the door".

For me, once I realized that my wife was going to be ok and let me do some slow speed cruising (versus swimming), I was quite relaxed and really enjoyed being out there. We had some rain showers. We watched them come and go on the radar. We had some winds, but never in our face. We had wildlife. We had sun. We had lunch. And when we were out of the US, we even had a couple of beers (but not while driving). I even had a dream that there were dozens of dolphins all around us.

Considering your neck of the woods, I was expecting to hear you say Loretta Lynn, conway twitty, or some porter waggoner.

Long trips can be mind numbing but what a lot of people don't get is they can be downright exhausting. Put 200 miles down while concentrating on navigation, watching for stuff that could ding a prop ( or worse), keeping an eye on the gauges and so on and after 10 or so hours, you feel like you just did yard work all day.
