I’m about to sign a deal on a leftover 2018 SLX 230. My only real holdup is it has the 4.5L 250HP engine. Anyone have this setup or experience with it? Just seeing if it is sufficient. My thought is with just a few people on board it probably would be just fine pulling tubers, etc but curious if we have boat loaded with 8-9 people & then try to pull anyone how it would perform??

Thanks for any insight as it’s a sweet deal on one of the last 18’s not sold compared to spending $10k+ on a similar 19 model.

Nice boat. Base power should be fine for tubing.
I have a 2006 240 sundeck. 300 HP in a slightly longer boat. Power is fine for everything, except if you want to ski with 9 people on board, With people on board, it takes me a bit to get up on a slalom. but I weigh in at 260

devil's advocate - you are looking at a 70k boat. roughly $1300 over 5 years. 10k savings saves $200 a month. Will you happy with the extra tank of gas a month vs the power? 50 / 100 hp adds $6k / 13k to the price on Sea Ray's build sheet.
