Hello all. Newbie here. Have owned several boats throughout the years but currently boatless and in the market for another.

I’m currently looking at these 2 boats:
1) 1998 190 BR, 4.3L, on a steel single axle trailer.
2) 1997 230BR, 5.7L, on a steel tandem axle trailer.

I’m looking for real world weights of each of these combo’s with say average gear, half tank of fuel, etc.

I really want the 230 but am concerned about towing it with my current vehicle.

The searay archives state that the 230 weighs 3,800lbs. I assume that’s with the standard motor, which I believe is a 5.0 (should be same weight as 5.7) and without fuel, gear, or trailer. Anyone know what it would weigh roughly “all-in”?

Thanks for all replies.

Gas is about 6.5lbs/gallon (use a full tank for your calculations).
Water is about 8lbs/gallon (if you a small fresh water tank/sprayer).
Batteries are about 50/60lbs (typical size).
Trailer would be about 1200lbs for steel, give or take a hundred or two depending on exact model.
Gear... up to you. I like to use 300lbs as a safe estimate, although that's typically high for a small boat.
