I've been a lurker for quite some time, and finally made a photobucket to upload some pics of the boat to share! I was born and raised in Delray Beach, FL and moved to Los Angeles almost 2 years ago. I've had the 1988 230 Weekender for a little over a year and have added a bunch of upgrades since then. It was in nice condition when I got it, with a new EFI FWC Mercruiser 5.0 with the original Alpha 1. Solid service records since new. Full camper enclosures with Eisenglass windows and a few different covers, most from 1988. Lowrance GPS, Garmin FF. Fresh water wash down in transom. And a decent EZloader 2-axle trailer.

I've added Trick Davits with extended arms to the swim platform to hold my 1996 8'6" Apex RIB with 2006 Tohatsu 8hp, new Kenwood head unit with Bluetooth and USB with 4 new Alpine 6.5" speakers in the cockpit (unhooked the ones in the cabin, as I never like the music in there anyways), 2 gunnel rod holders, 4 side-mounted rod holders, and wood down-rigger mounts with 2 custom rod holders, new rod holder mounted large bait table from WM, transom mounted bait tank and new salt-water pump, had new foam cut for all the cushions in the cabin, replaced nav lights, and some more stuff I'm sure I'm forgetting....

Plans include a larger battery bank with inverter and a water heater with heat exchanger. I'd also like to add an extended swim platform and change the lights out to all LEDs.

The one thing I've learned here is that THREADS ARE WORTHLESS WITHOUT PICS!! So I've attached some pics of cruising Long Beach, Los Alamitos, Newport, Catalina, Mission Bay, and San Diego. I'd love advice on new places to go in SoCal and surrounding trailerable areas....

Give us a day or two! Welcome........I like the pics for sure.

Welcome aboard! My first Sea Ray was a 1987 230 WE, so I know the boat well. I had an inverter in mine (under the starboard seat compartment, along with two golf cart batteries in the bilge. (previous owner installed) The boat looked like it was sinking with the weight of the 5.0 engine, and batteries, so I dumped the batteries for some lighter deep cycles, which still had plenty of juice for my needs.

I'm currently running 2 optima blue tops, one cranking and one deep cell for the house. With full water, fuel, dinghy on Davits, outboard, and gear she definitely is stern heavy...

Welcome aboard, great pics I have the same boat although my admiral doesn't look like that lol

definitely post more pictures.......

Welcome Aboard!!! Many of us have frozen fingers and cannot type until spring thaw. Nice outfit, it should keep you comfortable for a while...

Welcome aboard, the bow rail needs a burgee though

Welcome aboard. Sorry for the delay in my reply. My computer screen got hung up on the 11th picture.

I bought an identical boat to yours as my first cruiser but unfortunately it failed the inspection. I moved onto a 25' Sundancer with a crappy OMC outdrive. Wish I'd stayed with the 23.

Woah woah.....crappy omc out drive????? Which one did you have?

I knew there were some other 230WE owners lurking around here! Thanks for all the welcomes.... I'll do my best to keep the pics coming!

Can't recall the model at the moment and no pictures because this was back in the time where no one had phones with cameras. It had the flat roundish plate on top of the outdrive. Had water intrusion issues and spent a fair amount of money repairing it. Then got hammered on resale as compared to the Mercruiser boats.
