I am hoping I can get some usual good advice from the group. Here is the situation;
We have a 2001 225 Weekender, and really like the boat. My question is that I have a Sanipottie toilet that is not hooked up to the pump out. The line that goes into the back of the toilet is not connected, the boat was purchased last year from the original owner in California, so I believe they disconnected the hose going to the pump out before it was shipped. Is there anything that I need to do besides hook up the pump out, (extra water or sanitizer)? We haven't used the toilet since we bought it, but I noticed that the electronics panel listed a fuse for the head. I didn't know if I needed to put a fuse in before I connected everything to the pump out. Any advice on this would be appreciated, thanks in advance for your help!

No fuse will be needed if you have the porta potie. You should be able to just hook up the hose and fill the fresh water holding tank with water. It's the fill cap on the left side of the potie (looking at it) right behind the ring. You can put deorderant in the holding tank or in the fresh water tank. Watch the blue deoderant though, it will stain so be crefull when pouring it in.

Your port-a-potti should also have a smaller vent hose that goes out thru the side of the hull. The hull fitting is round and about the diameter of a Quarter. You need the vent hooked up if you are going to use a pump-out station. If you don't hook up the vent then you run the risk of damaging the holding tank if the vacuum pressure builds up too high as the tank nears empty while you are pumping it out.

Here are two pictures from my 240 SD showing the hoses at the back of the tank and the little vent on the side of the hull (the vent is barely visible but it is directly behind and a little below the registration numbers on the hull).

Excellent, I do have the vent tube as well, it was hooked up, so I will also hook up the bigger line. The fitting for the hose is busted, so I will have to replace that and we will be set. Thanks for the good advice. Have a great 4th of July weekend.
