220 Sundeck Thread - Questions and Answers

Tell you what. I have the factory vinyl tall back seats. If your seats are white, I will trade you mine for yours and I'll pay to ship them back and forth!

I really want the Vison Air as I swim a lot and require a seat that helps me dry quickly.

I am 100% serious!

OK.. sounds good. I wont be able to see the boat and sit in them for a month when I get to Montana for the summer. If I dont like them I will reach out for a trade. I am "haggling with the dealer there now.. I want the boat but in this economy I want to make a screaming deal. Does 47.5k for a loaded up 2010 with 58 hrs on it qualify?

Pulled the trigger on a 2010 220 Sundeck! Loaded up. 350 MAG, 50 hrs. Pick up boat May 24th in Montana.

Congrats on the new boat! Your 220 will handle the Flathead just fine. Im on a similar size lake. ( altho I had a 240 it was never an issue and in fact helped me to sell mine. I picked the windiest and roughest day for their trial and they were amazed at the handling ) You at the Bigfork end of the lake?

I am across the north end of the lake at Somers. Just got a house there on the lake. Sounds like you've been there so you know how amazing it is !

very nice ... yes I lived in the Flathead Valley a long time ago... when a 3 bedroom house on the lake with 5 acres was $50K :)

and you need to change your sig lines now as you are no longer 'boatless' :)

I STILL have not picked up my new Sundeck :( I'm waiting for the temps to rise. Does anyone have a recommendation for which wax is best for a brand new boat?

Picking up my 2010 220 Sundeck in 3 weeks !! Come on boys.. lets get some chatter in this forum. I need some things to read about on my new toy. Did I make a good choice? Any major problems to look for? I am buying the boat from a dealer who took it in on trade. It has 50 hrs on it after one summer of use so the previous owners did use it but the dealer assures me it is flawless. I will do my final inspection and then complete the sale. Should I insist on taking the boat on the water before I give them the balance? I know that sounds like a stupid question. The boat has had 2 oil changes and they are checking to see if the impeller has been serviced /replaced? Any thoughts on that? What is the first major service due? Thanks for any and all info

Congrats! Should be a fine boat. I've got the previous generation 220 SD so I don't have a lot to offer other than we're completely satisfied with our Searay! I will add that I'm not sure you need to concern yourself with the raw water impeller at this point. If the dealership is going to replace it on their nickel then fine but I'd save my money if they want to charge you for the repair.

Well I finally got her waxed and in the slip!
I even got to take her out last week for that 90 degree Day 5/3 (in MI!)
I'll get some pics up soon

I think $47.5 sounds good (as long as it has a trailer). It also depends on what kind of power it has, and the outdrive. I think I paid something similar for my 2007 (maybe a little less). It came with a premium trailer, 350 MAG and B3.

Looks great ! Is that windshield cover part of the cover package or did you get that separately. Curious what made you choose the Sundeck over the 210 Select type Sea Ray? What other options do you have? Mine goes in the water in two weeks. Cant wait !

The windshield is covered with the standard cockpit cover.

I do like the 210 select, but I have 3 kids and I really need the head. It seems no matter what I try someone has to go 10 minutes into the trip and I don't have a bathroom where I keep the boat. I couldn't count how many times I have to come in hot and my wife has to rush a kid home while I button up the boat. No More! Also the 220 is a little heavier and I think that helps me out when the waves kick up on lake St. Clair.

If I remember correctly from the invoice, I think the only options I have are the bow ladder, cockpit table, and battery on off switch.

Very nice. I see that you tow your boat with an Explorer. I tow mine with a Trailblazer, and everyone on here tells me I'm crazy...LOL

Never had an issue!

Believe it or not, that Explorer has a tow rating of 7115 lbs! My wife really wanted that truck, and she used the fact that it could pull a bigger boat to sell me on the truck she wanted LOL!
