350 MAG w/ Bravo III
Hi All,

My first post here as we are in the process of acquiring a 2007 220 Sundeck! Hoping to take possession later this month.

A few questions:

1.) This particular boat has the Bravo III outdrive, and it looks as if the skeg has a stainless steel "skeg guard" on it. Was this ever a standard feature? The rest of the boat is in immaculate condition. Any insight appreciated.

2.) When Sea Ray ships w/ the optional VHF, where do they mount the antenna? Is Sea Ray a good place to source a VHF for install? I like the idea of all controls on the handset and the rest hidden away.

3.) When we went out for a test spin, it appeared the controls on the steering wheel were not connected. Is that an option that can be completed later?

Thank you to anyone who replies!

Cheers.

Welcome aboard.

1. No "Skeg Guard" is not offered by Sea Ray. The PO must have installed it.

2. Can't help with the standard install, but may want to do a search and your find quick a few options here on the board.

3. If the controls are there they should be working. Stereo, smart craft, etc.

Great, thanks chuck1!

Anyone else experienced the smart craft controls on steering wheel not working?

I would check to make sure the skeg is not broken....I installed a Skeg Guard on my last boat because it was damaged (like 2" missing)....

On the VHF antenna mount, I mounted mine to the bimini support pole. It sits at a 45 degree angle, extending past the bimini top. Looks kind of cool, and is better than the factory mounting location in my opinion....not to mention another 3-4 feet higher for improved transmission. For me, the price of the standard SeaRay radio was too high (over $500 not installed)....I went with a Cobra mounted on the gunnel next to the captains chair. $110 shipped from Etronics.com. Got my 8' antenna from West Marine onsale for $65 (was over $100) + SS pole mount....total was about $200 for everything.

Not sure on your controls question....mine work OK.
