Yay, we finally got our "new to us" 1993 220 cuddy launched and tied up in our spot. Not used to such a small boat though. When it gets up on a plane it has a major list to the left when the trim tabs are in the "all the way up" position. The ride can be leveled out by adjusting the trim tabs but I've never had a boat that leans like this with a well balanced load. This is the first high performance boat we have owned so we are thinking maybe it's the "350 magnum" torque that is causing this. Has anyone got any input as to the cause of this. The boat is like new, low hours (<300), Never moored, and fresh water only use. Weird huh?

My old 1990 220 would do the same, by myself or with others on board. It didn't take much for 1 small tab adjustment to level her out. Once I had it set I almost never had to adjust the tabs for the season.

In general, running on plane with the drive all the way down will cause this to happen to most boats. Having the drive all the way down puts too much hull in the water and this causes the hull to lean as there is too much drag. If trimming the drive up a bit solves this issue, then that is all it was.

My 220DA did the same thing, and was real "touchy" with movement of passengers. 100% corrected after I installed the Bennett Auto-Tab system. The system can be installed while in water, and basically involves splicing wires to the current system. I paid about $230.00 online, which is about the best price I could find on it. Set it and forget it. It even remembered the setting the following season on the water.
