Thanks Quint,
I just got it last fall... We're useing it as much as I can get my family up to Baudette. It's slow to plane but I like the economy with the 4.3lx. I ran up the river and back full throttle about 55 miles and burned 31 gallons in a little over 2 hours averaging 28 miles an hour up and 30 back. It is a really clean and nice running boat, but I'm already thinking I should trade it for a roomier 27 or 29 foot Amberjack or Sundancer. Thats my brother and sister in law in the picture.
I have 2 group 29 batteries on starboard side. Mine leans to that side when sitting in slip. Also aft cabin is on starboard side and I use that for storage.
I've got this topper and a trailer topper but not the higher camper topper. So far this summer its been to hot to keep the top up anyways.
This picture was taken last fall. A couple weeks ago we had 72 mph winds come up the river, board fell off the dock and scratched up the portside yellow trim on the bottom. What do you do though?
My next addition is mounting a 15 inch tv/dvd that my family just gave me for my birthday.
I've got a couple small Cannon Downriggers that I stow on the starboard side of the engine. I bought a couple extra bases for them so I could secure it below. There's not much room on this boat, but I also have stowed nest to the engine, my Muskie tackle box, 4 life jackets, and the grill bag and my tool bag down there. It's a good thing I only have a 4.3lx.
sorry I haven't posted pictues of the platform....I have been to busy using it. I will when I get my camera out to the boat.
The platform is great. I have no problems getting to plane. I love the platform. I use it more than I use most parts of the boat. It makes the boat much more useful. The issues I had before with the boat being to short are gone--I feel as if I have a 26 foot boat.
Enjoy your summer--don't work to much. Go Boating!!!!!
Here are the pictures of the platform. I love it. The boat is a little dirty in the pictures--but we have been boating lots this summer. I love the baskets. I am going to have to go buy some right away.
I have also includes some other pictures. We made an upper seat to expand seating. It is very nice and we did it ourselves.
Also--we added another outlet in the cabin for our daughter's DVD player.
Has anyone ever mounted anything in the ceiling of a 220DA? I need to know how thick the deck is above. It seems like its about 3/4 inch. I 'd like to run some 1/2 screws into the cabin ceiling to mount a TV, but I DONT want the screws popping through to the outside.
Ok thanks for the info. I did install a cleat up by the deckpipe this weekend. It seemed like only 1/2 inch up there. I could be wrong. I'm looking to mount in the cabin ceiling and there it does look like it's pretty thick. I should be fine at 1/2 inch
I've got a couple of questions.
Does the boat perform any different with the platform. Does it act like a giant trim tab?
Also, I'm interested in knowing more about that seat. There is not enough seating in the 220. From the angle of the pic, it's hard to see exactly what the seat looks like.
My projects for next weekend are the TV and DVD player. A new shore charger and maybe an inverter. or any combination of the above. I keep putting off the toilet project. That will be the toughest.
