    Thanks a lot,

I forgot to mention that I also got a Perfectpass stargazer, so hopefully with the Perfectpass and the high five I will be yelling less at the boat driver

With the 5.0 carb it came with a 21" aluminum prop. A 19" vengeance stainless prop will work well too. I have used both and the SS prop works OK for skiing but its not as good as my 4 blade ele17 power tech.

Mine had a 21P aluminum from the factory. I used it for 3 seasons like that and this season put on a 4 blade 19P. I can stay on plane at lower speeds and when the boat is loaded with people I am able to get out of the hole easier.

Right on - thanks! We've had a chance to get it out a couple of times, and I definitely think a 19p 4-blade would be better.

So...after running a few times, I have a question for the late model 205 owners about the tach and hourmeter. When all of you are running around at idle, or in gear but basically at idle, does your hourmeter not log hours?

Mine doesn't log hours unless we're running about 1500rpm or so...trying to figure out if this is common or just a problem with our 205.
    Thanks in advance!

Forgot to check in - the stock prop did OK, but we've upgraded to a 20p 4-blade. Should be sweet. I was able to deep-water slalom start and had a blast!

I never did get a good picture of the 205 up - here's one. Is it summer yet? :)

Factory tower. Came with the 205 when I bought it. I actually bought an OEM tower for my 180 from XTP and it was just as nice.

Of course, it's been calling my name for the last month or so, even though it's still 40* and rainy/snowy here...really tough when it's in the driveway just begging to go for a drysuit run.

I know the feeling. Just came out of a string of days with 10 degree highs. Spring fever is bad here.

Is it spring yet? I'm running out of money (and patience) to do many more projects. Guess I'll have to do a super clean/polish/wax!

This was another fun project (adding blue LED's in select places); wired all of them together in series, then connected them to my extra switch on the dash (says "wiper" but of course, there isn't one to be used so it makes for a nice alternate):

Sorry if the pictures aren't perfect; it was getting late and didn't want to wait too much longer to take the shots:

For those curious; the LED's are from a company called MarineFX. Available through Overton's or on their website (http://www.fx-series.com/marinefx-products.html). I used the linear ElectroPods, but the more oval ones would work well also.

Mounting is with 3M VHB double-sided thick tape; the LED's come with some double-sided foam tape as well. The nice part of the linear lights is that they'll mount between the drain holes on the cup holders (which are a great place to put them).

    Hi,

I recently bought a new 2012 205 Sport and my speedometer is not working. Can anyone tell me where the intake for the speedometer is on the motor or possibly provide a picture of it. I was told it may be plugged but just not sure where it is. Any help would be appreciated.

    Thanks

My 2012 190 speedometer doesn't work either.... I advise you switch to GPS with a chartplotter or depthfinder.

The speedo "hole" (speedo pitot intake) on my 2010 185 and 2012 190 (both AlphaOne outdrives) both got plugged early in the season when there was a lot of debris associated with high water levels. The dealer just blew them out with a high pressure air hose.

A drill bit works well to clear the pitot.

Anybody know what changed to make the 2014 205 Sport capacity 10 people instead of 8 for say the '08s?
