2023 Springtime Shine thread

Question for those who detail and wax in the water. What do you use to get to the water line? Some sort of raft? Do you lay in the dock and reach as low as you can go and call it good?
Ya don’t do that anymore….. it was funny last week at the boat I looked down and saw one of those suction cup handles floating in the water up against my boat ….a good one too….. I laughed to myself and said someone else can have it

I literally can't find anyone right now to do this job. I found one other guy who returned my call but he wanted well of 3k for a standard detail and he tried to upcharge for everything under the sun. Upcharge for a boat over 10 years old. Upcharge for CC payment. Etc, etc. Gimme a break.

Pull the boat and do it on the hard…. A lot easier a better job and cheaper no doubt

Unfortunately, they don't and won't allow self work here. To pull the boat for any reason is minimum $1500-$1800. They got you by the balls on this lake. One of the very reasons I've contemplated getting out of it altogether.

Floating dock helps and/or a kayak, or an inflatable. That's how the guy did mine last year, with a kayak. He did a great job IMO. New to me marina guy offered to do in on the hard or at the floating docks.

The marina where you met me, I did it from the water with the inflatable.

This is a great product and this gallon will
Last you 3 seasons.
Chemical Guys CWS207 Extreme Bodywash & Wax Foaming Car Wash Soap, (Works with Foam Cannons, Foam Guns or Bucket Washes) For Cars, Trucks, Motorcycles, RVs & More, 128 fl oz (1 Gallon), Grape Scent https://a.co/d/eMEIDxZ

Then just buy a cheap foam cannon like this
YunGuoGuo Foam Cannon for Garden Hose,Adjustment Ratio Dial Foam Gun,Car Wash Soap Spray Foamer Yellow https://a.co/d/cavqSnj

the wash goes on sale for $24 pretty regular. The foam gun I see once in a great while a few dollars cheaper in different variations

One pass with Smoove Procut and then topped with Bubble Gum. She looks good for 22 years old. About wore me out doing the topside, but much gratification completing the detailing. It has a nice shine to it that I’m sure the flying rats in the harbor are gonna love!.

The detailer told me the boat was done before I fired him. Look at the pole where I stopped in the first pic. I got both sides done up to where the bow starts curving back in. Almost 20 hours there. I need to finish the rest during the week.

This is why us northerners start waxing...in November :)

Looks good!

Went up to the boat today to install new anodes while she was out of the water for bottom painting and detailing. I am impressed with Jescar, even more impressed with the 2 guys on step ladders running their Makita polishers, and not me :) My hand may get tired writing the check...
