Which leads me to ask the question, will my Colts learn the lesson Elway learned after getting thrashed by Seattle in SB 48? Will they build a dominate defense? A young player as good as Luck can make decent receivers out of average players, he can't do a damn thing to stop the opposing offense. The best plan it seems to me when you have a special talented QB is to let him lead an offense surrounded by a very good line, good runners, average receivers and TE's. Put the big money and picks into a dominate D.

My surprise was that it did not happen against Seattle. Dan Quinn seems to be really missed in the NW. The previous 2 losses the Panthers had were to Quinn led defenses. I think they provided a direction Denver executed perfectly to literally knock NC off their block.

Newton failed to fight after he lost a fumble. WOW!!! Then does the "big baby" routine in the after game press conference while wearing a hoodie with the hood pulled up. He should hire someone to teach him how to act in public with his millions. He could have shown the public the good side of himself by being a gracious loser but, NOT...

The Panthers got their suggestion, someone stopped their on field celebrations. LOL

I agree he looked like an a$$ in the press conference. It was interesting to see Marshall Faulk explain just how hard it is to sit in that seat and answer questions after losing the Super Bowl. I don't really remember Marshall's post game interview, but he compared it to Cam's. Marshall said that when he watched the video of himself it changed him and he swore he'd never do anything like that again. Maybe that experience will humble Cam a little.

I have gone on the record that if someone doesn't like Carolina's antics, then stop them on the field. Denver did. It was a bit disappointing to see how the Carolina players reacted when the Denver players celebrated big plays. They need to learn from their coach. Rivera's post game interview was one of the classiest things I have ever seen in pro football.

Guess you didn't watch Super Bowl 35. No D was better then the 2000 Baltimore Ravens record setting defense. Only team in the history of the Super Bowl to not allow a offensive score.

Sorry, just had to set the record straight...........carry on

absolutely an awe inspiring performance by the Denver D...I will never be sucked in again by how well an offense is playing when it comes to playing a stifling defense....Von Miller was an animal in this one.....well played.

Rivera is a good man and hopefully his leadership can teach his team a few things.

Yahoo Sports and the headline of the day:

"Cam Newton goes from Superman to Incredible Sulk in poor postgame showing"

Not sure I can agree with you. Seattle's defense looked pretty good in SB48 scoring twice, if you count the safety, and only allowing 1 TD to a highly rated QB and offense.

Both of you guys make a great point, we watch and heap glory on the QB's and offense while forgetting some of the incredible defensive performances we have witnessed. For me, and I sure many others, it is easier to forget a great D win vs an offensive explosion win with great passes, receptions, and runs.

As great as the Denver D was last night this will be remembered for "Peyton's last SB win". A win he did nothing to earn, well, maybe a little. He did not play so badly that he gave it away. Dirty Harry said, "a man has got to know his limitations". Guess he did that. LOL

Farewell Marshawn Lynch. You won't ever have to talk to the media again.

Russell Wilson's message to Peyton Manning is unbelievable!!! What an example of grace, humility, and humanity.

    "If This Is It"

"From all the wins, to the few tough losses. From the 71,000 yards, to all the touchdowns, to the few interceptions.

From all the meetings, to all the hard practices, to all the film, to all the blood, sweat and tears.

From all the Pro Bowls, to the handful of MVPs, to the two Lombardi trophies. From all the teammates, to all the opponents, to all the fans.

From the blue and white, to the blue and orange …

    Sheriff,

If this is it, there’s one moment I won’t forget.

10th grade. Louisiana. At your quarterback camp.

You inspired the kid in the green shirt. (photo at the link)

You inspired me to work hard. To be disciplined. To be respectful. To take notes.

You inspired me to love the process. To love the sweat. To love the tears.

    But most of all …

You inspired me to love the game.

    Thanks, Peyton.

    If this is it,

    Thanks.

    Russell Wilson"

For those of you asking why we discuss the shortcomings of Cam, this is the standard to aim for.

I'm not much of a sports person. TheSB is really one of a few games I watch in a season.

Based on the halftime show, did I see the NFL endorse black lives matter? Ever since the Janet Jackson "wardrobe malfunction" the NFL has allegedly run halftime under a microscope. WTF.

For the record, I'm ashamed of how Cam acted, and am embarrassed for defending him. But, even tho he has embarassed himself and the whole Panthers team, his generosity at home stands. Maybe he will review his actions and learn how not to act.

Also for the record, I won my superbowl wager......haha

The truest measure of a man is how he handles adversity...

    MM

Update. Further proof no matter what his coaches and managers try to do to help him, he can't handle it. Today's quote.

“Show me a good loser and I’ll show you a loser,” Newton said, via Joseph Person of the Charlotte Observer. “If I offended anyone, that’s cool … I don’t have to conform to anybody’s wants for me. I’m not that guy. This is a great league with or without me. I am my own person.”

Someone should tell him he just insulted his coach...

Well we now know how that big baby stacks up, don't we.

Here's how a post game press conference SHOULD be done after losing a Superbowl game....

If you watch that video you'll see how a classy guy handles it.

Now, where are all those guys who have been bad mouthing me about the things I said about Cam's behavior? It seems what I was saying turned out to be true.

yeah but had the panthers won this would all be forgotten about. it is very true that a persons true colors come out when they face adversity. i gotta admit, i hadn't followed carolina much this year so only heard what i read about cam. now i see it was all true and deserving. hope he learns from this and becomes a better person. i know alot of people outside of the Pittsburgh area don't like Big Ben but watch his interviews after they lose. he takes full responsibility, as do most of the QB's in this league

Ya, Cam Newton was a jerk after the game. Don't care...Lynch was before SB 48. Didn't care then either.

What seems to be forgotten here was the over the top, amazing performance of the Denver defense! That was crazy good defense, probably the best I've seen in far too long. Defense does win championships!

Peyton goes out with an almost identical SB stat line as his boss:

John Elway winning the Super Bowl in '98: 12-of-22, 123 yards, 0 TD, 1 INT.
Peyton Manning winning Sunday: 13-of-23, 141 yards, 0 TD, 1 INT.

Oh yes we must be outraged...cut, cut, and paste....we can make anything he says sound worse. Forever escalating drama as regular people, the only skill possessed the handling of a ball, are judged by how close to super heroes they become.
