2015-16 Football thread - any team banter welcome.

you guys are looking at this all wrong....it's not braggin if ya can back it up....I used to think Cam was a complete a$$hole now after watching him more closely I see that he's just having fun. Wilson, Sherman, the "12's" and the whole "legion of boom" were mostly considered a$$holes early in their career's also....relax....you have to admit...he's fun to watch.

I lost all respect for newton after he ripped a 12th man flag out of the hands of a 12 year old kid after the game.

Wow, alot of hatin' going on. I don't see anything wrong with Cam's antics. Makes a lot of kids happy. Of course the No Fun League will curb all that. When the Rams were the greatest show on turf they did the "bob and weave" after every touchdown. The league outlawed group celebrations to eliminate that. I'm sure everyone (and their fans) who were losing to the Rams thought they were a$$holes for doing it, but we thought it was fun. I've always been a proponent of "if you don't like it, do something (legal) on the field to stop them" way of thinking. Carolina can celebrate like they are because they are beating (almost) everyone. In my opinion you become a true a$$hole when you are doing that stuff when your team is losing. FWIW.

Imagine how much hate you'd have if the same toupee wearing pr!ck that stole your football team from LA just stole it from you to take it back to LA. M'fer.

Cam was drafted to one of the worst teams in the NFL. I'm sure he didn't exactly enjoy playing. Everyone could see it in his behavior on the sidelines. Like anybody he wanted to win. As the whole Panthers team did. This year is payoff for alot of hard work, by the entire team. They/we adopted a saying, "keep pounding" and they did.
Everyone has underestimated the Panthers this year. Kept hearing, they haven't played anyone tough, they have an easy schedule, flash in the pan......well dang. At what point do the Panthers earn alittle respect. Some of y'all speak as if you know Cam, I'm sure what you know of him is what you watched on tv. Cam has matured greatly, and is still learning to be a champion. At home here in Charlotte he does alot for the kids that he doesn't get any publicity for, and doesn't ask for it. The whole Panthers team has been awesome to their fans, and have been relativly humble as far as I'm concerned.
They haven't won the superbowl yet, but you can bet they will give it their all.
Worst team to the best team, that's a pretty big deal....to us here in the Carolinas anyways.
Keep pounding!

Yep, I remember when the Manning's, Luck, and even the hated Brady stole a computer and had to switch colleges...

I clearly don't know Cams heart, but some players are "coached" by teams and agents to grease the gravy train...

They did play a soft schedule and got the home field advantage because of it. Had they not had the easy schedule they likely would not have been as good on the road...

I agree with the soft schedule, or at least what seemed a soft schedule. I've said that to people myself. But even if it's the truth, the Panthers beat every team (Falcons the first time...) that they were scheduled to play to get where they are. Sometimes we need to remember, even the terrible teams are still professional football teams, that are capable of winning at any moment, given the opportunity.

Soft schedule or not, I'm proud of the Panthers.

yep....that "soft schedule" stuff is for whiners....they've proved they can whip that azz regardless of strength.

Panthers win and it won't even be close...think SB 48

Soft schedule? Seriously Mike...the Panthers blew out top teams in the league. I mean, some good teams. All of the NFL can scare anybody at anytime. Hell even the 49ers won a game and the Dolphins beat the Pats to close out the season.

The position the Panthers are in is deserved. I really enjoy watching the joy they have playing a game in a league that has become a promotion machine wrought with pretend scandal fueled by the press, ESPN and the NFL Network.

This will be a good Superbowl.

Yes Sir! A very soft schedule. What top teams did they beat? None...

They beat the Pack and Seahawks when they were down in the season along with the Redskins and Texans, and we saw how good they were. All the remainder wins came from .500 and below teams mostly from the moribund AFC South and the NFC Least. Now they have added thrashing the 6 and 2 seeds at home. They don't win those games like that without the home cooking that they earned by playing mostly the 2 worst divisions in both the AFC and NFC.

They won the games on their schedule and may ride them all the way to a Super Bowl win but the truth is they did not play any of the other top 3 seeds in either conference to earn that advantage of playing at home. We will see how it goes away from home against a better team. They may just blow them out, but they have never been this far before as Denver has.

Should be a great game!!!

MM

Go Denver Manning's!!!

Or fans with an interest in analytics. And no they have not proven they can whip azz of strong teams until they beat the best teams that are perennially in the finals and Super Bowl...

Love ya Mike...but still think that's a load of hogwash and sour grapes! Agree though that it should be good game. Money in Vegas is up to 5.5 point advantage for Carolina. That's after starting out at 3.5
