2015-16 Football thread - any team banter welcome.

It's halftime in the Hawks vs Broncos opener. Thus far the Hawks aren't showing me much. Lockett had a nice run back for a TD. Without that it would be a very lopsided score.

Seahawks are not showing anything, but I could care less....

Seachickens lost! That's all that matters! BTW, I do realize that preseason means dick...

Yep, Niners will suck this year! You can't get under my skin when they suck...

My prediction from the thread discussing Brady's possible penalty....

Should:
Lifetime ban from the sport. Effective immediately.
Fine equaling anything left on his contract.
No Hall Of Fame consideration.

Will:
Not a damn thing. He has brought millions upon millions into the Patriots organization. Any "fines" will gladly and promptly be paid by Mr. Kraft who will in turn raise the ticket price by 50 cents. No one will notice or even care.

I'll start off by saying I bleed Scarlet & Gray, and can't stand that Tom Brady is a Michigan guy.

That said, I can put my bias aside, be truly objective, and recognize that Tom Brady is the greatest QB to ever play the game. A summary of his stats backing that statement can be found here.

To me it has been obvious this whole scandal has been a witch hunt from the beginning. People who wish to dispute that fact should examine their objectivity. I'm not a Patriots fan, I'm totally envious of their success and wish my beloved Bengals could get their **** together long enough to emulate the Patriot organization.

The NFL lost big in their hand-picked venue with a friendly judge. Judge Berman found the whole "Independent" Wells Investigation was a joke. NFL Attorney Jeff Pash edited the report, and then the Well's law firm was the NFL's counsel in Brady's appeal hearing. Good Grief, you can't make this **** up.

Cold Hard Football Facts summarized deflategate succinctly: "Goodell and the NFL ran a sting operation against Brady and the Patriots in the AFC title game, one of the three biggest games of the year. The NFL then spread false information to the media to beat Brady in the court of public opinion. They tried to change the charge against Brady midstream, from deflation to non-cooperation. They tried to suppress evidence that harmed their case. They tried to manufacture evidence to build their case. They ignored evidence that refuted their case. And they denied Brady due process."

Like I said earlier, this whole thing has been a witchhunt.

For the anti-Patriot/Brady crowd, take solace in the fact that the Patriots still forfeit a Million dollars and a 1st and 4th round draft picks next spring. I bet Kraft regrets throwing in the towel so early.

First off....pats fan yes. I always look at the bigger picture. Kraft and Bellichek (sp?) have brought football to a new high. They are the Dallas Cowboys of the 80's-90's where you either loves them or hated them, but it helped the franchise of football. I don't think the Pats can win it all again and I also think Brady is starting to age. It should be a great year and I would put a lobsta on Seahawks.

well the "should" part is just ridiculous......the infraction only carries a fine...not a suspension.....put it in perspective.....it's no different than pitchers in baseball using pine tar (or any other substance)....Goodell's a moron for even TRYING to suspend Brady.

The "should part" was sarcasm. Just my attempt to express what I felt was going to happen no matter what "evidence" was produced.

Brady's an arrogant azz.

Umm, I begrudgingly say, that Brady is "The Man". What makes him arrogant? What outrageous statements has he made? Are you jealous that Mr. Bundgen sleeps with a Super Model? Everybody talks a little sh!t, but Brady backs his ****talk up with play in spades. More importantly, look at his deeds and not words and tell me how he is even remotely arrogant?

BTW, F all of you MFers for making me defend scUM Brady. Seriously.

Seahawks looked better tonight. The 3rd or 4th string QB Daniels looked pretty good. Scrambles and throws like Russell.

Now the real season starts.

Brady's an arrogant azz.

Brady's an arrogant azz.

I'm not sure about that, though it is a real possibility.

I'm very certain he is a cheater.

What did the judge rule yesterday?

That even if Brady cheated, the NFL never told him deflating balls and obstructing an investigation was against the rules with suspension as a possible penalty.

Also, that the NFL didn't let his legal team question an investigator.

So if one thinks Brady "vindicated", think again.

This will continue on through the system, not because the NFL has a hard-on for Brady personally, rather, that this ruling guts the ability to suspend for "conduct detrimental to the game".

They cheated before ,they cheated this time, and will cheat again...
