2011 Chicago Boat Show

Mike we are driving up in the morning....should get to the show around 11ish. Give me a call whenever you get there.

I got an email from my sales guy at Munson Marine that the 42 Regal Sports Coupe is going to be at the show. I don't think we are going to do the 80 miles this year, can anyone give us a report on what they think of the Regal?

Very happy that boat will be at the show. From the video I watched yesterday, it looks fantastic.

...Bob are you up for watching the Bears game at the yacht club with us?

Thanks, but I'll take a pass on that one.

Brutus, I will definitely check out the Regal since I was at one time considering a used 2001 3880 with diesels that I could have traded my 320 in on.

Well I broke down and went today.

Largest boats there were:

48 Cruisers
42 Cruisers I think
42 Viking (By Princess)
45 Formula
400 SS Formula
42 Regal Coupe
38 Regal com.

It was a great time waster, but a big letdown.

The 42 Regal coupe was nice, I love the hardtop and the boat is really sharp looking. The layout is very functional. The 42 Coupe is a "Boat Show" boat and its traveling around the country because believe it or not Regal is back ordered on all their boats above 40'. I like it.

Just got home from the show. Had a great time, made possible by some great friends we've met via CSR. Saw a few good boats, and had great conversation. Loved the Regal 42! The Cruisers 48 was a very, very nice boat, although it seemed small for a 48' boat.

I will let the others chime in about the following photo...

Hey we are all going to trade in our Sea Rays on Bayliners and they we're going to Disneyland!! You guys here at CSR have it all wrong.:smt043

Seriously, the show was better than last year and being able to share it with some of my CSR brethren. Being relatively new to boating I am developing a true appreciation for the mutual bond the sport generates. In addition to the seeing the boats, I was able to meet face to face with some key vendors at Airmarine for prop tuning, Skyway Yachtworks for heated storage and B&E Marine (courtesy of Dan), and even got to enter a drawing for free winter storage at a place in Milwaukee. Even my current Marina was there for the first time exhibiting Glastron boats with considerable financial support from Glastron. All in all a good time was had by all.
