Last winter I was kept alive by the dream of going to the San Juans for the first time ever. We did it and I'm already looking forward to next year. I'm thinking this year, I might only have a week to spare and would prefer to go the last weeks of July. Anyone else interested? Todd? Are you up for another week? You guys can do another 600 miles if you want, but we had a whole lot of fun going to Victoria and then puttering around the islands WITHOUT an itinerary! I'm thinking I'd leave on Friday again and then return the following Saturday. Canada or not, I still want to go back! I missed a few places!!

We're in but Mo has stated only wanting to go for a week with both weekends and maybe the Friday before (10 days) this time. I actually like the idea of not having an itinerary as well. It's something for the dock talk when we arrive.

I think we'll still go to Desolation again, but it may be either by ourselves or whoever wants to join, but not so "year in advance" planning, and doesn't have to be this trip.

About Dates: Jim I see you mentioned the "last weeks of July"
Do you have any issue with the first Week of Aug? That's the week I was thinking, but as long as it's after the 15th of July, that has been typically the best weather.

As long as Sea Fair doesn't clutter one of the weekends, I'm good. We wanted to meet some friends when we left the San Juans last Summer, but got all messed up with Sea Fair. We drove home instead of seeing them because we figured we wouldn't be able to GET to the launch for a quick overnighter.

Did you want to go to SeaFair? Or just meet your buddy.
The SeaFair Races are the First Sunday of August, so next year it will be Aug 2nd.

We just wanted to meet our friends, spend the night on Lake Union to flush the boat and then head home on Saturday. Sea Fair REALLY messed that up for us! So if we go next year, I want to make sure that doesn't happen.

Hey Jim
Are you still thinking of coming over this year>?

Todd:

Yes! Currently we're thinking about leaving July 23 and returning the following weekend.

I'll be at Faragut State Park next Thurs - Sun. Tess might be down on the boat, but I'll be up on the hard that weekend. Let me know what you schedule is and we'll see if we can get together or I can at least point out some places to hit, things to do.

Ok let's stay in touch. We are leaving Aug 2nd to head up to Caldwell island for the week, but we may be able to get out that previous weekend.

I plan on starting a new thread for those who may want to do another BIG rendezvous next summer.

I'm envious, we are in Nanaimo and headed to Prideaux Heaven in the morning, its raining and has been all day. But the rum is running and life is good.

Will you be passing by Caldwell Is?
It's in the Agemmemnon Channel north of Pender Harbour.
If so, let me know.

If you head to Desolation next summer we might have to get onboard. We met Todd and a couple folks last year at Roche. This year we leave July 30th for seventeen days in the San Juan and Gulf Islands.:smt038 This will be our longest outing yet and time to really recharge.

That would be great. I started the thread for next year. Get on board. It would be great.

I'm hauling my boat out that way on July 19th. Not sure of where to launch yet, hopefully either somewhere in the howe sound area or maybe near Victoria. Our plans are kind of loose right now, we want to go up to desolation sound and then will be in Comox for three nights starting on July 31.

We will be returning to Calgary on Aug 6 or there abouts.

You'll be right there to begin your trip. We'll be in the Agememnon Channel north of Pender Harbour after Aug 2.
