2009 310 Sundancer Salon TV/Entertainment system problem
Hi, been searching the internet for days for an answer....please help :smt101

Just picked up boat from winter storage. Tried to turn on salon TV (Tohiba 15") green light turns on indicating that TV is powered on.TV channel that it is tuned to pops up onscreen, and can be changed. It shows that TV is tuned to local TVstations. However, no picture or sound comes up.
Tried to test with DVD. Switched input to VIDEO. Turned on Farenheit DVD player and inserted DVD. Farenheit logo appears on TV screen, but can't get DVD player to play DVD.

Eveything worked fine at end of season last year!

Thanks for any help!

Joe

I know I forgot a breaker one time that prevented the antenna booster from powering up so the numbers displayed and no picture...it was an interesting few minutes as I powered on and off the TV not realizing a separate breaker powered the booster...but given your DVD situation, I'm at loss...sounds like something is literally unplugged. Any winter maintenance? If so, the panel could have been pulled and some cables not plugged back in.

Hi, thanks for your response. I was hoping it would be something simple like a breaker. I've tested them all and they seem okay. When I left TV on for period of time, I would see a message on screen about poor antenna signal reception. Checked the Glomax antenna booster dial, it's tuned to max. Red light below booster dial, not sure if it shoud be red or green when working. When I turn Glomax dial off, message on TV says No Antenna Signal...... No winter maintenance as far as I know.

Joe, this is very simple troubleshooting. You need three things here for success. 1) Power, 2) a functioning TV and 3) a proper cable signal to the tv. You have already checked that the tv has power to the outlet. Now, to check the other two, simply get another small tv from home or borrow one from another boater that has a small accessible tv and plug it into the cable that your tv is using. If the test TV works as expected... than your toshiba is crapped out and you'll be shopping for a replacement. I think your tv is the problem btw since the DVD didn't work either. If the test TV still has no signal and shows no channels, then you'll be tracing the cable back to the dock to see where the problem is. You should have this problem solved in 30 minutes once you are able to get a test tv.

Thanks bbwhitejr and gerryb. Sounds like I'll have to take TV down and find input---TV came factory installed, so not sure how easy this will be. Still trying to figure out why TV will show me what channels are being input, but won't show a picture? Also, when I was trying to get DVD to play, I couldn't confirm that DVD player was actually reading the DVD--couldn't get DVD player to show that it was playing- -which is why I was somehow hoping that it could be something simple like a circuit. Unfortunately, everything seems to be getting power, including Glomex.

Okay, spent time on boat with family last night/today. My wife got the DVD player to work, playing through TV. When we try to watch TV (ANT input) it lists the TV station tuned to but no picture. When we click on Info button, it shows the TV station tuned to as well as the antenna strength (with picture of antenna as well as signal strength bars). The latter keeps changing back and forth from full signal strength (green antenna, all bars lit up) to no signal (red antenna, no bars lit), to intermediate signal (yellow antenna, few bars lit). Does his mean that the problem lies with the input (Glomex antenna system)???
