2008 Rendezvous TN River?

Again, nothing has been set in stone yet, so please if you have any thought or ideas throw them out.:smt100 This could be the best CSR trip yet. Looking to be able to pull members from all around since it is within range (Good Day Road Trip) of so many of us. The more we talk about it the bigger it seems to get! Somebody said that they could not come since they could not trailer their boat so yes you big boater are welcome too. I'm sure we can find a place on some of the smaller boat for the river trips.

This just keeps getting bigger and better. Looks like we've got 12 Yes/Maybes

Updated list as of 10/20/07

From what I'm hearing most are going to be in Wed - Sunday.

Looks like the best day for the Plant tour is going to be Thursday.

Still looking for ideas for the other days. Do we want to try and plan something for each day or should we keep a day or so open for individual/family time. I'm trying to find out where the Fire works display is going to be the best on Watts Bar Lake.

If you get a chance email me offline at chuck1@ssg-i.com with your info

Boat Name
Boat Size/Type
Real Name
Spouse Name
Kids Names
Cell/Phone Numbers
Etc

So I can put it together for the other people on the trip to have. Will only be emailed not posted since this is personal information.

Hope everybody that emailed me has got a response. If you did not get a reply back, please email it again. The rate sheet I sent does not include the discount. Maggie said she is already getting call from CSR members about the weekend.

Looks like I have the Wife onboard for the trip and even 90% chance the sister boyfriend and 2 kids might come as well. I'll be calling monday to see about reserving room(s)

The only concern my wife has it Trailering that far. Since the farthest we have gone is 2 hours which even then she doesn't like need to convince her all the way to TN will be ok. Think it's time to buy that spare tire I've been thinkin about. I also have the towing service with BoatUS.

For those of you that have done a LONG trailer trip is there anything I should do prior during. Anything to watch out for?

Greenville, SC to Vero Beach is that long enough? I have done that trip a bunch of times.

Trailering your 240 is not a big deal. Check your wheel bearings, tires, and lights and you should be ready to roll. While checking the wheel bearings make sure you are man enough to remove the lug nuts if you have to. A couple of weeks ago when I had a flat I discovered I was not man enough to break the nuts free. Being prepared with a spare, floor jack. and a couple of blocks of wood did me no good. I suggest antiseize and hand tightening the nuts no air power. I also added a cheater bar for any and all stubborn wheel nuts that get in my way in the future.

Not sure what your truck is rated to tow but assuming you are within a safe weight limits drive sensably and you will arrive just fine. Looking forward to meeting everyone.

Think I can handle all that except for the part about the bearing. I imagin I should check the surge brake fluid as well and air. But as for bearings all I know is they are greasy balls.

Sorry, been off line for a couple days. Looks like SeaRayPaul already got you covered on the trailering. Separate issue. Got a message that we can not do the tour on Thursday. Since Sea Ray is on a 4 day week now, they are going to be shutting down Thursday for the holiday. May work out the best anyway since it looks like we are going to have kids that could not have gone anyways. I'm thinking a Chattanooga run to take it's place, what do you all think?

Hopefully out on the boat is where you've been.

Booo on SeaRay, although I was really looking forward to that but I'm definitly up for seeing some Train Museums too.

Funny thing is my wife has not invited more then fit on the boat HAHA time for a bigger boat I guess. It still up in the air though as I need to call and see about reservations and then have to see if I can even schedule time off work this far out.

No boating this weekend, trip to Pigeon Forge. The more I think about it, the Chattanooga run is going to work out better. There is a bunch of things you can do in downtown.

Very good thanks. Sounds like something I might want to do while the boat is off the trailer.

When jacking up the trailer, what is the proper placement of the jack? I know my on car it actually shows you where to put the jack but for a tandom axel trailer I would think you want it on part of the frame somewhere near or inbetween the axels.

How long is the trip from Euchee to Chattanooga. It appears to be about 90 miles each way passing through two locks. Does this sound about right?

It is right at 78 miles and yes we pass through 2 locks. I'm figuring 3 +- hours each way, if we don't have long waits at the locks.

I just made my reservations for the 1st - 6th. So unless something unforseen pops up, I'm onboard.

Sounds great SeaRide. Looking forward to seeing you all again. Look like most people are going to be there Wednesday through Sunday.

OK, who hasn't reserved a room yet???? If I don't get my 10% discount, it's coming out of Chuck's pocket!!!! By the way, there are several medium grades along I-26/40 west of Greenville. For those of you who own Chevys, I'll be standing by at the bottom of the "hills" with my trusty Ford and a tow strap to pull your GM products through the mountains :).

I have not reserved yet as I'm still trying to finalize who's going and how many rooms I'll need.

As for needing a tow, my Titan shouldn't have any problems.

Have any more plans been made for SeaRay or Chatanooga yet?

Neither will I Morpheus. However, I am concerned about Mr. Bolt's Chevy and Midway's GMC. They shouldn't be too hard to find though. Their radiators will probably be sending up smoke signals.

OK, who hasn't reserved a room yet????

Got mine:thumbsup:

Looks like Kingston has the best activities and Fireworks display on the 4th in the area. What do you all think about running up there Friday the 4th?
What do you all think about trying to do a cook out at one of the pavilions? Maybe Saturday?
