2008 Rendezvous TN River?

Chuck, Count us in. Is Euchee's lodging filling up, or their marina slips? Or will we just launch and load the trailer each day? A day trip to Chattanooga sounds good.

Seemed like it was the lodge. Personally I'm going to leave mine in the water. Slip is free if you are staying there. Chattanooga has put a whole lot into the downtown section. Very boater friendly. Free dockage for the day. Quote from one of the website about it.

You'll be impressed by Chattanooga's revitalized Riverfront. The revitalization includes a 10-mile Riverwalk, The Passage, a celebration of Chattanooga's Native American heritage, and the Chattanooga Pier. Cruise down the Tennessee River aboard the Southern Belle Riverboat and see why Chattanooga is nicknamed the "Scenic City of the South". Take a walking tour of the charming Bluff View Art District with its shops, restaurants and the Hunter Museum of American Art. Enjoy America's national pastime and go to a Chattanooga Lookouts baseball game at AT & T Park .

I thinking the trip down will take 2+- hours. We will have to go through 2 locks. So it will be an all day fun trip. If somebody does not want to take their own boat on the trip I'm sure there will be places avl. for them on some of the other boats. That goes for some of the bigger boats too, we don't want you to have to worry too much about that fuel burn. (Grin)

Count us in. OffRoad Dancer has all of 9 hrs on her engine and outdrive.... this should be a nice breakin trip next summer :)

Gerald, Good to hear from you. Is your dog coming too. Glad to hear your re-engine work is doing good.

Hey Chuck -

Durango may or may not be aboard, depending on whether the Admiral makes the trip or not, and whether or not I/we find a dogsitter or just decide to bring him along. I'll probably figure it out the day before departure, LOL.

Yeah the engine is finally done. What a long and expensive summer it's been out of the water :smt009 It'll be fun to try to make up for lost time next summer :smt001

I'm just glad you're going to make it. You never know when we are going to have to dive for the sauce(Grin) Just kidding, I remember reading something about you being an expert.

Ok, talked with Sea Ray about a plant tour. Who would be up for it? Would Wed or Thursday work best? Need a rough head count. We can go via boat and dock at Sea Ray Corp. headquarters.

I would love to go to the plant Chuck.

I recieved my vacation request form today. I am putting in for July 1 thru July 5 2008. Is this correct? Only two people are allowed off at any one time and there are over 60 people competing for time off. Faxes are accepted starting Monday morning at 9am.

Chuck, a plant tour would be great! Thursday would work better for us since we are planning on coming up on Wednesday.

I just used Google Earth to check the mileage from Euchee to the Sea Ray plant, and got 102 miles one way on the river. It looks like this will be a 11-12 hour trip with the run up and back, locking through twice, the plant tour, probably a fuel stop, and hopefully a few stops to jump in the water and cool off. Does that sound about right? I'm up for it. I was just wondering if I was seeing it right since I've never been on the TN River.

Chuck, Plant tour sounds great to me, Thursday would be best because I have it planned that I will be driving up on Wednesday.:smt038

Wow the more and more I read this the more I wanna be there. I need to talk the wife into it.

Yep you hit the nail on the head. Sounds like Thursday is going to work for most. I'll try and set it up with Sea Ray.

My thought was leave early Thursday and run hard and fast to the Plant for the tour. After the tour we would have all day to float back down the river. Could stop in Knoxville for lunch. There is a great place on the river Calhouns. Lots of Big homes to look at on the way back down. Couple good places to raft-up and swim, etc. I'm sure some of the locals could point out a couple places. Yes we would have to do a fuel stop. Concord is a good
place.

Even if she does not want to do all the boating there is other things to do within a very short drive of Euchee.

Chuck, Do you know if Sea Ray allows children on their plant tours? I'll have a 12 year old and a 13 year old, and I know some plants don't allow anyone in below a certain age.

Great point:thumbsup:, if I remember correctly no photography inside plant, no open toe shoes, no sleeveless shirts and no children under the age of 14 :smt089. Looks like the kids may just have to get a start on lunch and feed the fish at Calhoun's. If you have never done it, the fish seem to climb all over each other when you start feeding them.
