2008 Jul 18th-Aug 3rd Seattle/San Juan Island/BC Gulf REDZVS

Fun Tide, are you Todd's alleged brother or was that just Todds' way of welcoming another Sea Ray Bro into the hood?

There may be more than one Iclandic person on this trip... Incase that is a deal breaker for anyone?

Welcome to the board sir, but watch out for that log.

Wesley

You can be the judge when you meet us...

I was conceived on our grandfathers boat while anchored in Roche Harbor if there are any real worries of authenticity...

But WHICH boat? Inquiring minds want to know! Is this the boat your grandfather built?

The pictures of the Funtide look great! Nice boat! If you decide to move up to a slightly larger version in the same vintage...... I know a guy.... :)

Todd:

What is the rough group count at this point? I've made reservations at Roche, but haven't made any other reservations at this point. I think we're still trying to figure out what to do at Victoria. Should we make reservations there as a group, individually or just hope for the best? I just want to be prepared! I'm also wondering if the $1.25 per quart (Sounds better than $5.00/Gallon!) fuel is deterring anybody at this point? We might row a little more than usual, but we're still planning and can't wait to get in the water!

Re-reading the thread, you also mention dew at night? What? Horseflies, mosquitoes, darkness, no floating coffee stands and now dew in the cockpit? Man, this is getting ridiculous!

At least boating season is here! The 250 DA is polished and ready for sale and I've had a number of people interested. Got a guy stopping buy tonight and another guy meeting me in Vantage on Saturday if I don't sell it tonight! I received two other inquiries from the West side just today! Cash from proceeds will go directly into the tanks of the 300 DA! I'll get the 300 DA ready this weekend and hopefully we'll be floating about 10 days from now!

I'll volley out an e-mail tonight and see if we can get an accurate head count.
Congrats on the imminent sale. I'm sure it will go if it's as clean as you've made it sound.

Hey Todd,

Never got that email you spoke of. Nonetheless, we are definitely going! Same goes for Mike and his wife Cindy here from the Sacramento area.

Finally got to spend a day WITH the boat yesterday (notice that I didn't say "on" so as to not imply that we actually splashed). I spent all day spring cleaning her - washing and buffing the gel coat and cockpit. The sunbrella cover does let through all kinds of dirty rain water. )~; But she's ready now for the upcoming weekend. Batteries are fully charged - final test of all systems when I pick her up Friday eve. I can't wait!

Cheers!

Let me see what happened on the e-mail
I'll check at home tonight.

I haven't sent much out. I meant to send some stuff out awhile ago, but I think my Dad's illness derailed some well meaning intentions.

Everyone let me know what they're looking for and this upcoming weekend I'll get caught up.

The Admiral and I were just talking today, we need to get our reservations done.
Thanks for the Bump Jeremy.

No worries nor hurry Todd... just want to make sure I did not miss the boat..... I have not been on the board for a while.

I am looking for $10 million ..... but I have been looking for that for many years :)

Seriously just a final list of spots so I can start locking in reservations would be really cool... unless one of the previous lists is the gold copy.

I have just sent out an e-mail to everyone that I had on the list.
If you don't get and e-mail PLEASE SEND ME A PM SO I CAN GET YOU ON THE E-MAIL LIST AND MAKE SURE YOUR IN THE LOOP.

Here's what I sent out.

I found this on You Tube
a sailboat going through Deception pass.
You can see how strong the current can be for the sailboat and how power boats can make it through just fine.

Looking at the forecast of max. currents at Deception Pass, things look pretty good for the launch and return dates. Slack tide will be at 10:20 am on Friday, July 18, and at 9:59 am and at 4:55 pm on Friday, August 1.

Now we'd just need to find out about the safety of storing tow rigs at Coronet Bay. I checked into La Conner on the Swinomish Channel as well. Unfortunately, their travel lift launch is very expensive ($4.50/ft one way) and their monorail launch would have trouble with our bunk trailers. There's no good launch ramp in La Conner.

We are leaving on June 12 from Sacramento and plan to cruise up the coast to Seattle. Our slip is on Lake Union and we will be in the area through November, so count us in.

Well, if it isn't the proverbial "mother ship" joining our fleet of little pocket cruisers! LOL!!!

Welcome!

Yeah, she willl be. That'll be great though.

Out of curiosity, what is your cruising speed?
Send me a PM with your E-mail so I can get you on the list.
Thanks
