I would like to attend any more info the Bay is rather large and what time. Looking foward to it since the price of gas my long range cruising will be local.

yer damn right i want to! i still got a lot of homeys in the baltimore area from the old school daze. problem is that the admiral will have none of it. she's got "ocean-a-phobia." i may be able to scam an AC trip, but out and around the cape, it aint happening (at this point in our life). i cant even get her to agree to cape may or schooner island! last summer's ocean city NJ trip (which went swimmingly) is about as far as i can hope for (for now).

you may need to be a jedi master, as well as a USCG master to find "the secret spot." once you are made aware of the locale, you are sworn to secrecy, or you will be cursed for all of eternity.

here is the secret spot - i hope this information doesnt fall into the wrong hands and is then used for evil! if you zoom in, you will see the "cut" into the land (island beach state park), as well as the deep water leading into this "cut," which was supposedly created by Gov. Woodrow Wilson during his governancy of NJ way back when. reportedly he had this dredged so he could get his sailboat up to the governor's mansion. plug this into your GPS: 39.888138,-74.083385

Ron, you are passing the "Secret Spot" out to way too many people. Did you forget about the dangers lurking there....

Just a thought...there really isn't that much room at the spot so based on the number of boats, you might be better off going to Tices. We once rafted up with about 8 boats and we basically hogged all the anchor-able water to ourselves.


Just my $.02...if you don't have a flotilla its a great spot!

i think it may amount to 8-10 boats all together. if it expands beyond that, you're right - it gonna get a bit cramped in there.

so far we've got me, alexF, comsnark, frank (FC3), dominic (one sweet day), kinship, sto-away, MiMi, My Summer.
 
I've been sworn to secrecy before. No problem I'm used to "water boarding". I'll never tell. Remember I work for the goverment you can TRUST me and may the force be with you.

dont worry. i've got one of those "flashy thingys" like they used in Men In Black. when the day is over, i'll wipe the memories of each of you, except for those of you who already know the "secret spot," which will probably amount to about 3 captains.
 
For a such a large raftup, I would tend to agree that Tices would be a better gathering location. Even if you know where the 'spot' is, getting to the 'spot' can be another story. There is some VERY skinny water crossing the bay, and it ain't marked.

This first BB get together, IMHO, would work well at Tices....subsequent raft-ups might work well at the 'spot'.

I can't committ to this date as I have tentative reservations for the MM Getaway to Ocean City, MD that weekend. I say tentative, because I have a boat-load of personal issues going on at the home front that may preclude ALL of my extended cruising this summer....:smt013
