2008 44 Sedan Bridge Purchase

Wasn't going to post this because of the canvas abuse, but here's the master stateroom:

Great boat and I am sure a great deal as well! You guys will enjoy her for a long, long time. It is hard to believe how some people store their canvas! The PO of our boat stored the curtains in a similar fashion (or worse).

Congrats!

I really like the 44 and am looking forward to your trip reports. Need photos of the diesels!

May I ask if it has an ice maker? This will just make my day!

We run out of ice every Sunday and I just can't keep enough in a cooler.

Please keep the photos coming!

John

Congratulations on your acquisition. The 44DB is the finest model made by Sea Ray (ok I may be a bit prejudiced on that). Enjoy it, best of luck.

Tremendous boat, John. Can't wait to see the pics from your next long cruise.

Congratulations!

Congratulations on the new boat! I'm looking forward to reading more exciting trip logs with your new boat, here on CSR. Gorgeous!

Speaking of no longer a need to carry extra fuel jugs along, what is the range of your new boat?

Congratulations on the new vessel! Can you give us some details on how the local dealer got the boat from SB at Winthrop Harbor? Did Sea Ray buy back, was if floor planned by Sea Ray, etc? Just curious how that worked as I see nice boats at MM, Smith Boys etc. but SB doesn't seem to be eager to do the swap like you did. Or, were you working with SB at their FL location?

Did you like the harbor ice? We hope to be in there in about 30 - 45 days if water temp gets above 32!

Congrats John! Great choice too (might be a little prejudiced). As for financing, I just refinced mine with Essex Credit at 4.99%. Found em in a boat magazine.

What a beautiful boat, John!!! Congratulations! I can’t wait to read your reports about your future voyages :smt038

I'm not sure how SR got the boat from SB to my local dealer - smoke and mirrors, but, it came from Winthrop Harbor.

John, congratulations on your new "dinghy". I'm new here to the site and loved your reading about your trip down to the Keys. Kept me up until 2am reading then till 4am dreaming about it. ENVY.

If you write another diary of your next trip I won't get any sleep!!!!

Good luck and fair seas.

Steve

Thank you, Steve. Fair seas to you as well.

Congratulations John, awesome boat.

Congrats on the purchase!

I know at least three 44 owners on Lake Michigan that will be thrilled that boat is gone. They had a difficult time pricing thier yachts last fall with the incredible offering that was being made on yours...

The wife and I spent a little time crawling around yours last October but couldn't pull the trigger because it was still outside of our price range.

The Northpoint SB staff has a ton of expertise and should do a fine job taking your bridge off and packing her up.

Congrats again, she's a beauty!

I missed this until just now - sorry. Thanks for leaving me something to bid on! And, thanks for the kind words.

Soooooooooooooo jealous!!!

Some day hopefully...that's the next reasonable step up for us...I just hope we can make it there some day - It's a pretty big step.

I'd really like to thank all of you for your 100% supportive comments in this thread (and most). It's been a ton of work. I'm almost happy to be taking this month off from the boat, but now I'm shopping for shipping and dinghies...

Can't wait for it all to over and settled. The biggest parts are done - finding, financing, and insuring. But, shipping is huge too - and re-building, and the swim platform, and A/C, and tv's, and.... Good problems to have.

Congrats, John. Simply a beautiful boat. I am extremely jealous. That boat is so awesome, it even got Wes to post!

But, does this mean you will now abandon CSR and join the secret diesel boat site?:smt009

Seriously, best of luck with her, I am sure she will treat you well.

John

Not sure if I read it in this thread or not but which lift are you having installed?
