2008 44 Sedan Bridge Purchase

congrats....best of luck. Have you decided how you're getting her home?

We are trucking. As it turns out, being a new boat, the best way for us to purchase it was through our local SR dealer, which is what I was trying to accomplish anyway. So, they bought it from SR and we traded our boat in locally. This way, they will assemble it, prep it for delivery including full service, then I will sea trial it and have Cummins do an engine survey so I can correct anything wrong with my new boat right off the bat.

A few weeks ago, someone asked why I didn't just buy a new boat with everything that we wanted. That is kind of what we're doing. We just can't get an '08 in '08, or a '11 in '11. This way, we have the dream boat within a working man's budget (sort of) - a retired + working man.

She is beautiful! I really like that darker wood interior. Best of luck on the transport and sea trial. Thanks for the pics!!!

Thank you. It's the matte finish, dark cherry.

John...congrats....beautiful boat!!

Just curious about other interest rates you found. Did you get a better rate because the boat is new?

Wow......that is awesome, congrats!

Congratulations John. She's a real beauty. But, white? What will occupy your time now previously used maintaining that blue hull? :) Good luck with her! Sincerely, Brian

Edit: Thank you, by the way. I don't think I got a new boat number. Buying a demo reaps some new boat bennies, but not all. Most of them are negotiated.

5.62 seemed to be a common number. One broker came up with that number and then was able to get it down to 5.25. My biggest issue was timing - timing and rate. The fastest, most efficient company had the best rate - better lucky than good. My local dealer could not tell me the rate for over a week - that's why I went to the boat show and started shopping.

Blue hull - there's a beauty in Annapolis - bet it has gold carpeting - not for me. Too much work, and, blue and gold? No way (sorry Navy guys).

Congrats....Can't wait to see it in the Gulf. No need to carry fuel to Ft. Jefferson now.

Best of luck with her. I was shopping for the same boat a little over year ago and decided to go for a house on the water and keep my 320. The house is nice, but have big boat envy...

What a coincidence! I have house on the water envy.

I would love to keep my slip on the sound, just across from the Gulf to remedy that, but, we're starting to run into some issues (on an Air Force Base, no less!).

People are squid fishing on our floating docks every night. It seems they can't be stopped. The docks got trashed. I spent 3 hours cleaning them, then raised a stink. Someone kicked out my shore power off the bottom of my dock box last night. I still haven't gotten approval to put in more pilings for a bigger boat - after over a year of planning. We may be moving. I love my spot, but I just can't believe the lack of respect or even decency out of our military community these days. We're getting really soft as a nation. We should all be scared.

John,
Congrats on the whole deal, new boat at used price (I assume), trade in your 340, and the great BOA interest rate. Gorgeous boat and couldn't be happier for you. Your pics look very familiar...like North Point Harbor and SB's facility there. If I am correct, my boat will be right next door just across the WI state line.

Congrats on the new boat ! She's a beaut. I'm sure she'll appreciate the warm weather year-round...

John...Congrats on having such a wonderful wife! What boat? Enjoy......You will love the bridge and condo feeling on the water.

Awsome find!! Is there a trip to the Keys this summer? It would be cool to meet up with the new toys.

Way to go John!!!! I'm very happy for you. Welcome to the 420/44DB Club. I can very much relate to the hassle of the process and the spring rush. I was just looking at very similar scenery when visited mine. You'll love the performance of QSC500s and some upgraded bells and whistles in your 44DB, but I'm sure we'll have a lot in common to share.

Congrads, she's a beauty.
