Hi all!
I need advice on pulling my 5.0L mercruiser motor out. It's a VERY tight space in this 2008 220 sundeck. The forward bolts or nuts are giving me some anxiety... especially the forward starboard side! Do I need to remove the alternator and everything under it to get to that nut?
This all started with a hydraulic leak from the manifold that connects the lines from the hydraulic pump through the transom. Well... I decided this would be a good time to go ahead and take off the lower unit and redo the bellows and gimbal bearing... but!!! I figured if I'm doing this I may as well pull the motor and go through it and replace manifolds and risers, raw water pump ect... I'm a novice mechanic, I can figure most things. Need some tricks to get to that nut that's seems impossible to get to unless you are gumby.. Help Please
